You have to think why it's taking so long for JGL' role to be revealed.

I know; what's the big secret. Why not reveal his role yet? So he's not playing The Riddler...not playing Alberto Falcone...not playing The Joker. And, the script is being "polished" as we type. Well, Nolan and Goyer could easily go back on their words and write one of those character's in, easiest being The Joker since he has been established (in my opinion). That last line is open for debate I guess.

So which characters have not been debunked? Roman Sionis/Black Mask, Hugo Strange i think, any other supporting characters. I'm sure when they begin filming there will be a big press release just like Inception. All, or most, will be revealed in early May.

The wealthy yet failing businessman that excels in organized crime. In that case, Alberto takes control of the mob, whom all wear masks, maybe combine Black Mask and The Holiday Killer? IDK, just throwing ideas out there.

I actually suggested this about a month ago, glad im not the only one who thought of this. Ill quote myself & this little scenario.....
"Just humor me. I dont think itll happen but..what if he's cast as Black Mask. the first half of the movie hes wearing a black mask, murdering people, screwing around with Selina, kills her friend Holly (who i believe will be Juno Temple's character), Batman gets involved in the story, which is how he and Catwoman meet.
Nobody seems to know Black Masks name or his motivations for all this. Maybe it turns out he's Alberto Falcone. Turns out Selinas connected to the Falcones, etc. where would they go from here? No idea.
I still think a young Hugo Strange could work for JGL, im just not sure if they can pull off the Holiday Killer storyline or if they can work Roman Sionis into this with all the history he has with Bruce, considering how much younger Levitt is & looks compared to Bale"

Something is certainly weird surrounding JGL. I almost feel like even Nolan doesn't know. They're probably still figuring it all out... which isn't good. This movie kind of feels like it's being rushed and slopped together. Anyone?

I dont get that feeling, I think its more of they're telling us very, very little and when we get any snippet, we overanalyze it to the point of doubt. I do think JGL will be playing a known character with some sort of fan-base, and it might involve a plot twist similar to the Ra's/Ducard revelation.

idea i had for this awhile ago i thought itd be cool if all of the false face society masks looked like other villains, like Scarface, Clayface, Red Hood, Penguin etc. this way Nolan could have a bunch of people in suits for his suit porn needs and then the masks could be easter eggs for the fans

Man i would do backflips if hes a young 30 year old version of Hugo Strange. talk about Ledger/Joker style casting. a real headscratcher. this board would be filled with people ranting and raving about how he's too young for the character and how Nolan probably cast JGL instead of Robin Williams just so he can have him in his movie again. While id sit back LOVING every second of it! Far-fetched? OK sure. Most likely choice? Alberto Falcone maybe. But cmon, look at Prey & Strange Apparitions..Hugo is a alot older, yes, but hes thin and in great shape. all muscle. If you look at THAT Strange and try to picture him as a 29/30 year old. throw a few things on Levitt such as a goatee, shaved head, glasses. not hard. Make him the psychiatrist Bruce goes to, to deal with his pain from the past. Its a possibility. End of rant. (or maybe im just desperate for Strange??)

Franco is in better shape than JGL so sure, he could have done it.

I doubt that. Franco has a broader frame but that doesn't mean he is in better shape. JGL can do some mean back flips. And he brought a certain graceful quality to his stunt work in Inception that I'm not sure any other actor could have pulled off. I wonder if that's the reason why Nolan switched Arthur and Eames' dream levels, but he could have made that decision before they were cast.

As for the TDKR speculation, someone on imdb (I know, I know) claims to have seen a WB presentation where they introduced a cast list that showed JGL as Alberto.
