You haven't seen her performance.

Well, I never said she was going to be bad in the role. I've seen Heard in other films, and I don't think she's a particularly great actress. Also I don't trust Zach Snyder much as an actors director, but will see.

I felt the same way with Wonder Woman in BVS, or Joker in SS. It was cool to see them make an appearance, and I enjoyed the preformance.

But never really felt they "needed" to be there, like the story could've been the same without them.

I want a shoot of Mera and WW together now.

Here you go:

oooooooooooh nice.

I assume she will but seeing as this is just a random photo zack took they haven't digitally finished the eyes.

You're probably right. Though, while I like the idea behind it, I must say I am not a big fan of the way they look on Momoa in most scenes. They look great in that close up shot when he walks toward the water, but in the tavern with Bruce, they kinda have that dead eye look to them.

Contacts are a ***** ;)

:hehe:

I think there's plenty of better actresses than her out there, but Snyder's castings are usually on-point.

Saw a brightened pic. The details are nice to see.

Amber looks amazing, but I'm slightly disappointed, Didn't some reporter who visited JL sets describe Mera's costume as shiny with scale like pattern ? The one we see now is closer to Aquaman's costume.

Mera will probably just have a cameo, so yeah I could see why you would say that. She probably won't have anything to do with the main story.

Just as long as it makes sense.
Like, if we get a scene with Arthur in Atlantis, it would be weird for him not to see Mera.
But if she just sort of rocks up on land to tell Arthur the plot of his solo movie then dives into the ocean, that'd be even weirder.

For the amount of detail that went into the costume, I have to wonder how big her role would be, given the amount of characters this film has to balance while still telling a fleshed out, coherent story.

You forget that she will be in the AquaMomoa solo as well. Things produced and developed for JL will roll over into the solo films.

See, that's my thing, too. I like her look, but how much will she be in this film? I mean, we're going to Atlantis, Gotham, presumably Central City to recruit Barry, so I'm wondering if this may feel stuffed.

Conversely, while I liked Civil War, you could have removed Scott Lang and Peter Parker and nothing would have been lost, so here, while I like these designs, will some of these characters just have brief appearances, I'm wondering.

You can think whatever you want about his style, but the acting in every single Snyder film is on point.

The whole costume is covered in a scale-type pattern. :oldrazz:

But why is it such a terrible thing for characters to only get one scene just because it's a comic book movie?! is it because they're already known characters?

Considering that both Mera and Vulko seem to appear in Amnesty Bay, I think there's a very real possibility we won't see Atlantis outside of Fellowship of the Ring-like "history lesson" part.

I expect Mera to show up in a scene at the beginning where Aquaman is in Atlantis. Judging by that pic as well, she could also show up in a scene where she goes to the surface to warn Aquaman or something.

Of course, I'm not really sure how those scenes will play out in the actual film itself.

We also got Deathstroke in JL, that I'm guessing will show up for at least a cool fight scene with Batman.

Honestly I expect the film to be overcrowded and have way too many plot points/storylines because BvS and SS had the same issues. Right now I am just hoping that the solo(ish in the case of Flash) movies are allowed more time to tell a story and slow down a little on the overcrowded sloppy World building.

That being said, I again will say that Mera looks amazing.

Snyder's films have had some weak performances in them, even if the casting isn't inherently bad. Personally I thought Cavill was pretty "meh" in MOS and BVS, but then again he didn't have a lot to work with in, especially in BVS.

Also some of the performances in Watchmen have criticized, so Snyder isn't bad with casting, but like any director he can mess-up every-so often.

Well, no one's saying that anything is terrible. I'm only commenting on how many characters we're getting and hoping that this film balances them all. After all, consider how many said that the Justice League cameos in Dawn of Justice were unnecessary or how Diana, great as she was, felt shoehorned into the film.

I wouldn't want that to be the case here as well with us getting so much and potentially cluttering the film, especially when it's the first appearance for many. I'm cautiously optimistic.

Oh wow, love Mera's look!!

Looks amazing. I love that they havent over sexualized the costume. Amber looks amazingly beautiful. The costume is spot on. I love that they changed her hair color, I didnt think they would, glad to be wrong, she looks stunning now. :)
