It sounds like WB/DC's big three will be Batman, Superman and Green Lantern, they have no faith in the others as solo films.

Fair enough, but I think The Flash would have had huge potential at least.

I can see the Flash being number four after it gets released.

A 4th tier unknown hero like Blade can be made into a hit trilogy.

But the Flash, Aquaman and even Wonder Woman can't get more than a cartoon. Been around for over 50 to 70 years!!

Is it their partnership with Warner that killin' them??

Aquaman could.

Wonder Woman? I think the combination of Sucker Punch and that horrible NBC pilot will ruin WW's little chances for a film.

No major loss though. If the male characters get their solo films, it will be acceptable enough for me.

If WW succeeds then there is a big chance she'll get a movie in the future. So no matter how bad it might be, lets hope the TV series is successful.

I'll be honest I could care less if a Wonder Woman film ever gets made there aren't many superhero females characters I like anyway.

I hope it fails miserably. The chances are high after that awful script.

First of all we dont know if that is the final script and secondly why would you want it to fail? It will hurt WW and every other female superhero if it does.

I wanted to make a time travel joke but then again you are the Man of Tomorrow, how bad was it again? :) No rewrites at all after the initial script? :oldrazz::oldrazz::oldrazz:

I'd rather it be so bad that it doesn't get picked up. At least then Warner Bros. might try again with a different approach, since the character's public image won't be damaged from a flop TV series.

They wont try again. They re that stupid. Superhero franchises are ashamed of their nature so they re either watered down, drowned in realism, adapted in some popular form and all that. Case in point they re trying to make a WW series successful by catering to the female audience with a chickflicky tv series. If it's average written and it still fails i wouldnt blame them. If Wonder-Allie McBeal fails, then full out WW from the comics will surely fail to get the average joe.

Besides, i heard that comics Diana will also get her own corporation to be more like the tv series. While i dont like it, i have to aknowledge that Diana has been a spy, an ambassador, she even spent some time selling hot dogs if i am not mistaken. So she'll run a corporation for a while and wear pants. If it gets WW popular again and people start buying her book, then its good for the character. If its passable and not utter crap, quality will come along the way. What's the point in sticking with the same old, same old when even Batgirl sells more issues?

To sum up, while it doesnt look very promising, at DC is trying to fight the stagnation that the character has fallen into. That's good.

They made a horrible pilot for a live action Justice Leauge TV show that did not get picked up, and yet they still decided to make the good Justice League TV show with Paul Dini and Bruce Timm 2 years later. If the pilot does not get picked up, Warner Bros. will know that it's because it sucked and that DEK went in the wrong direction with it. Not even Warner Bros. can be ******ed enough not to realize why the WW pilot is full of fail if it ends up being crap.

I didnt know that about JL. Look, all i'm saying is that if its decent i hope it succeeds, even if its isnt faithful to the comics and goes its own way. Most fans dont read WW's book anyway so why should they care? I dont like Smallville either, but if its getting people into Superman and DC in general then its cool in my book.

Btw i thought the show was picked up. If that's the pilot, the prototype so to speak, does that mean that the suit, Palicki's physique (to name a few fan gripes) and everything about it in general will be improved in the real show?

I just don't see the point in doing a JL movie if they're not going to use Superman and Batman in their current film incarnations. It'd be the equivalent of them using another actor and version of Iron Man besides RDJ in the Avengers next year.

I think they just need to take slower approach to it than Marvel where they can establish GL and Cavill's Superman in their own franchises, figure out what to do with Batman, and give the Flash a solo film before doing JL.

No major loss.

And it wasn't just the script aspects alone that sucked, not just the dialogue... but the entire approach to the character.

I'm skeptical they would have changed THAT much.

They'd obviously use Superman from this franchise. Nolan's Batman wouldnt really work, so they ll need a new one, whether just appearing in the JL or with his own franchise as well. Nolan's Batman will be over by then anyway.

The problem folks is that it's a logistical nightmare to now cross pollinate films and characters that are already or about to be established in their own universes. The easiest solution to avoid this is simply to have a different set of the same characters inhabiting their own universe. The main issue is differentiating a JL universe to a solo film universe, you make it look clearly different to anything else being made and it's not going to be as confusing to people. If you have a more stylized JL and more grounded solo flicks everything should be sweet, the timing is the important thing, you don't want to cannibalize the solo flicks, I'd suggest putting JL into a 'gap' whereby no other solo film is released within 18 months.

I think all they have to do is set down some rules affecting all franchises. For example Nolan's Batman wouldnt work in the JL, but if they set Superman right and start a new Batman franchise that's less grounded, it could work. I'm not referrencing GL because it looks like its straight out of the comics, but with Nolan in production, Superman worries me.

Or another actor who's not Edward Norton as Bruce Banner :woot:

If Justice League is too hard, cant DC just give us a Batman/Superman movie. I think people want that more than Justice League.

I think that Justice League would work better as a stand alone series, where GA would not have to go and watch various tie in movies first.

It is actually keeping things simple as most of the JL members are already familiar like Bats, Supes, WW and there would not be any need to make their first solo movie first to introduce the characters. (Like what Marvel needed to do for Iron Man, Cap America, Thor.)

Some of the other members like Flash, Green Arrow can later on have their solo movies as a JlL spinoffs.

I'd prefer a Superman Batman movie definitely over Justice League, I would love it to be the downfall of of President Lex Luthor.
