Honestly, they could easily cast Cavill, or Bale and or Reynolds and simply not pigeonhole themselves by trying to follow the other movies' continuity.

I want to see the George Miller/Mulroneys film that got turned off a few years back.

^ maybe he should atleast make it into an animed movie... just to get his story out there

Really? You know they took a decent script and butchered it right?

Let me make myself perfectly clear..... Lance Reddick is J'onn J'onzz.

End of story. :o

it had some good ideas, and then some bad ones

It should be pointed out that that eyesskyward recap of the script is ridiculously biased

That's an extremely biased Review. Search for the Plot summary posted in the other thread to get a real glimpse of the movie's true potential.

I've read a few mate and it sounded awful on all of them, whilst it is biased the facts are there and it would have been a mess. I read a review of the script before it was butchered and it sounded much better.

All available Script reviews are after the "butchering". The guy did not convey all of the story and makes it obviously sound bad because he tough it was bad.

do you have a link to the pre butchering review?

It sucks that I cant find the actual script anywhere

Its been a long time since I read it because I remember the guy doing a review on the later draft and saying that they'd took out lots of good stuff.

I know I've searched for the script

But the facts are still there stuff like the surgery, Batman killing, Superman been a *****e, Aquaman's water hand, the Flash been a bafoon etc just stupid stuff whether or not he makes it sound bad is irrelevant because alot of the stuff is just bad

End of the day well have to agree to disagree I'm just glad this piece of garbage never got to see the light of day.

On note of the new Justice League film I found this article interesting:

I'm glad they aren't going with Cavill, Bale and Reynolds.

This movie is it's own stand alone thing.

I like that.

DC doesn't have to copy Marvel.

Wasn't Batman supposed to be a paranoid schizophrenic in the JL: Mortal?

Crossing over all the solo film franchises isnt a matter of copying Marvel Paroxysm

and from what Ive read Prison Mike, he's just about as paranoid as he is in the comics or the DCAU

Batman's only paranoid just in case he ever needs to be. It's part of his prep time activities, he's preparanoid.

For those of you that think that Batman cant work in the JLA, let me just demonstrate how AWESOME Batman can be.

and a little bit later....

You see, his genius coupled with infinite plot armor and deus ex machinas can truly make him the most dangerous man on earth.

Deus ex machinas are looked down upon for a reason. It's a great disservice to the character and undermines everyone else's intelligence in the first process.

No bat-god for me. There are smarter ways to involve him into the league's affairs. Don't rely on cheap parlor tricks to put him on an unnecessary pedestal. Utilize the skills he actually has and integrate that with the plot. Not the other way around.

Batman always uses deus ex machinas. Even in Nolan's world he got the cell phone sonar.

Now that i think about it, in most cases its plot armor that we usually see, not d.e.m. Its like in the comics pages i posted above, Batman figures out they re Martians and then takes them out with fire. In Final Crisis he happened to have a god killing bullet which he used on Darkseid, and so on.

I don't care who has used it. It's terrible and lazy, 100% of the time.

For the record, that subplot was addressed (twice, I think) in the first half of the film. So technically, it does not fit the criteria for Deus Ex Machina.

The plot details didn't sound so bad to me. Nothing that couldn't be changed up a little.

And really most people simply dismissed the film and made it sound like the worst thing ever without knowing much about it. Reviews were out long after the film was dead. It felt more like "They're so young! There's no Bale! No Routh! This is garbage! And Armie Hammer has a funny name lol!"

Here are the details from the previous thread...

As far as a paranoid schizophrenic Batman, goes it sounded like just a choice of words from Hammer to me. Batman's paranoid because he's always prepared and he's in a way schizophrenic with the whole Bruce Wayne/Batman duality. Hell, the film was partly based on Tower of Babel and now we're getting an animated version of that.

Also, if people were fine with JL/JLU happening with very little dealing directly with what happened in STAS and BTAS and the rest of the League not having their own shows first, it shouldn't be that difficult to get viewers to see some JLA film. The general audience isn't going to be or act as stubborn as your standard fanboy.

Anyway, JLM sure sounded like fun entertainment.
