The Donnerverse is dead and so will Smallville. It would make no sense.

As much hate as I see Ross get, sometimes deserving, I'd love to see his JLA paintings come to life in live action.

Why does he deserve any hate? He's great, imo.

The idea is to prevent us from having yet another Superman. Then again, if Batman exists in the SR universe, it makes sense that Lois said that the world didn't need Superman. My guess: her article, "Why the World Doesn't Need Superman", was a sentence long, saying, "We have Batman!"

Yeah, It still doesn't make sense JL should try and cross over other film franchises. I think while as Fanboys we want to see it happen, it isn't necessary and would probably bring up questions of the continuity type. As long a s the (theorical) film shows us Batman is Batman and Superman is SUperman it doesn't need the crossovers.

Heh. I remembered I signed up here for Justice League movie info.

Part of me feels we may be getting the Mutilverse on film. Not that there will be come sort of Crisis or anything, but the concept that there are multiple universes just like in the comics or most recently the Star Trek films.

So, imagine WB/DCE being able to tell different stories where continuity doesn't matter all that much. So, it's like we could get a Kingdom Come film, Batman Beyond, TDKR, etc. animated or live-action. It's just a matter of when they're made/released and stress to the general public that we're dealing with alternate universes. Like indicating these are Elseworlds stuff we're dealing with.

That would be something that made them different from Marvel's approach.

Isn't geoff johns supposed to be writing a Flash movie or Aquaman or something? I would've thought there would've been something about that by now.

He refuses to draw modern DC. Uses superstar status to strictly draw stories written in the silver age. But hell they way things are going that might not be such a bad thing after all.

Really...? So how does he make any money if he doesn't illustrate any more comic books?

No, its nothing like that. He just likes to draw superheroes in their golden ages suits which btw he draws like spandex. He also refuses to draw new guys that have replaced the heroes he loves. The day Ross draws Wally, Kyle or Dick in the batsuit will be the day that hell freezes over.

:hehe:

Can't really hate on a guy who has his own preferences.

I dont hate him, just pointing out he's unprofessional.

Didnt Ross draw Wally in Kingdom Come? Albeit not in his regular suit

Again, from the Diane Nelson quote...

People make an assumption that we're going to mirror Marvel's strategy, for example with Avengers. We do have a very different attitude about how you build a content slate.
It's clear from her comment that their plans are quite different from Marvel's. A multiverse approach could be in the works as such a plan would allow WB far more flexibility in developing films based on pretty much all of their DC properties.

I don't see how it's unprofessional. It's not like he's some employee of DC. And he at least has made it known who he'd rather draw so it does't come as a surprise if someone hires him.

It gives more to the idea that these characters are bigger and have/will last longer than any actor who plays them. We've all heard of how studios are now paying actors less these days since they are not many "stars" that can really open a film on their name alone.

And with people now growing tired of your standard origin film, we can see the variety of stories that can be told just as we do with "regular" people we've seen in multiple films outside of those that are comic-related.

It's not difficult to 'retool' the films into one verse.

Bale's Batman was the first public superhero, just like in the Timmverse. Therefore, it's understandable why his world is hyper-realistic and there's no other heroes known to man just yet.

I'll guess I'll be the first to post my fan cast after the news;

Christian Bale (The Fighter) as Batman/Bruce Wayne

Ryan Reynolds (Buried) as Green Lantern/Hal Jordan

Sam Worthington (Clash of the Titans) as Aquaman/King Orin

Scott Porter (The Good Wife) as The Flash/Barry Allen

Anthony Mackie (The Hurt Locker) as Green Lantern/John Stewart

Kevin Durand (Legion) as Martian Manhunter/Detective John Jones

Jaimie Alexander (Thor) as Wonder Woman

I'd approve of a cast like this. The only changes I'd make are I'd swap out Porter and Alexander for Matt Morrison and Taylor Cole as the Flash and Wonder Woman instead.

I know that if this movie does happen, theyll probably want a bigger name, but I would love to see Sam Witwer as Bruce.

I stopped reading at Christian Bale (The Fighter)

Yeah, we know who Christian Bale is.
