Sam Worthington (Clash of the Titans) as Aquaman/King Orin

What about Charlie Hunnam instead?

Don't know if this been posted, but here ya go:

So I take it this means that neither Bale nor Cavill will be reprising their roles in JL.

The only benefit I see from a not shared universe it would be easier/quicker to bring to the screen.

But I really dont like that idea

You never know what they're going to do. They could change their minds and try and get Bale & Cavill to do the JL movie, just not have it tied in at all to the previous movies. But I guess people would assume it was connected it if had the same actors... Ya never know. Things change quickly with stuff like this anyways.

Cavill seems like he'd at least be a possibility for the JL movie, and they should at least try to get Bale in even if it's ultimately a dead end. If Bale doesn't want to do it, maybe they should use the same actor for JL that they plan to use for the 8th Batman movie, since the JL movie could be a good opportunity to warm people up to the idea of a Batman other than Christian Bale if he passes on JL.

No shared universe would be pretty stupid indeed, but I can easily see the gameplan changing if Avengers is projected to be huge.

Bad choice. I know he's an actor, but I think they'd have some bad press in getting rid of Aquaman's laughable reputation when Hunnam played a gay character who got buttf***ed in sex scenes.

and I said that Superman should be cast as a larger 6'3 and above guy, but he wasnt. Im not gonna say to not get an actor because he's taller than Supes. That's ridiculous.

I'd rather keep things consistent, instead of the mess we got with the JL Mortal cast.

Though even if we had a taller Superman like Routh or Reeve height, I wouldn't put Skarsgaard as my first choice for Aquaman.

The mess of the JL cast wasnt just their heights :whatever:

Now that's just ridiculous, unneeded, and offensive.

I actually see Charlie Hunamm as more of a Green Arrow (He resembles Year One Ollie a lot)

If i got my wish, this film would keep continuity with Nolans batman and the heroes would be:
Superman
Batman
Wonder Woman
Green Lantern
Green Arrow

  • Wonder-Woman/Diana - Jaimie Alexander.
  • Green Lantern/Hal Jordan - Ryan Reynolds.
  • Flash/Barry Allen - Scott Porter.
  • Aquaman/Arthur Curry - Alexander Skarsgaard.
  • Martian Manhunter/J'onn J'onzz - Lawrence Fishburne (Voice).
  • Green Arrow/Oliver Queen - Bradley Cooper.
  • Black Canary/Dinah Lance - Diane Kruger.
  • Despero - Hugo Weaving (Voice).

I'm just glad its in development. I think this "2013" thing, which seems unlikely, largely comes down to the fact that WB can't afford to be looking at THE AVENGERS RETURN and a glut of other Marvel films and nothing in the pipeline for their team up film.

I'm getting sooo tired of this nonsensical "Batman will have to be retooled to fit into a JLA movie"...nonsense. Where is it written that just because Batman didnt fight an alien/supernatural threat in BATMAN BEGINS, THE DARK KNIGHT and THE DARK KNIGHT RISES, or doesn't in his own films, that he can't encounter one in THE JUSTICE LEAGUE? Or that if he fights Clayface in his film, it's somehow comparable to fighting Darkseid or Despero?

And...Sam Worthington as Aquaman? Uh...no.

I don't care about his accent. I care about his ACTING.

I am past caring whether Christian Bale returns as Batman or whether he will be Batman in a Justice League film. All their "maybes" have just begun to bore me, and frankly, the lack of imagination in their answers about whether it will happen and why or why not bores me. I just want Batman in the JLA film.

There's really no reason why solo films have to come out before The Justice League. It can work both ways, really. Actually, I could see Batman, Superman, Green Lantern, The Flash and Wonder Woman films coming out before JLA, and then The Justice League film happening, and then Aquaman and Martian Manhunter films and sequels to the other films coming out or something along those lines. That'd be kind of cool.

Can I just say unless this is going to be a 3 Hour epic can they not go ahead with this please!

Just film Kingdom Come! I want this to be Epic!

Or get Zack Snyder to film Kingdom Come after Superman!

So now I'm reading that the JLA film might be a separate continuity, apart from Nolan's Superman and Batman. I'm disappointed. It seems silly that instead of seeking corporate synergy, they're going for intracompany infighting. Instead of using each film to help promote the other, they're inviting fanboys to compare and contrast the various actors playing the same characters.

The JLA need not be mentioned in each character's solo movie. And I also don't think it's too much of a stretch for a "realistic" Batman to appear in a crossover. People frankly overrate the "realism" of the Nolan movies, which included a climax built around a magic microwave superweapon that violates all sorts of physics. Batman's relative "realism" can even be addressed and used within the film. He could discover an alien conspiracy or whatever, and be as overwhelmed as the audience. His inability to deal with supernatural or alien threats could motivate him to be a better team player within the League.

Just do that Mortal one & get it done. Either way the fan boys will be pissed off if true

I found this interesting:

“Green Lantern,” directed by Martin Campbell (“Casino Royale“), arrives in theaters June 17 with costars Blake Lively, Mark Strong and Peter Sarsgaard. The film represents a pivotal moment for Warner Bros. as the first release under a new initiative to better exploit the DC universe and with the studio’s plan to push forward with a Justice League film that would presumably include Reynolds in the Green Lantern role.

^ Doubtful. Geoff Johns confirmed that all references to DC characters outside of the Green Lantern lore were eliminated in Script revisions.

Something tells me the project will fall apart again. Or be re-tooled as some sort of Animated movie with no connections to the Live-Action franchises.
