clearly lionsgate is in no position to do power rangers, or any superhero movies, back to low budget fantasy YA movies for lions

It took like two weeks for the damn thing to cross $100 million. Highly doubt it reaches $252 million. The box office performance for this one isn't too far from being completely dead.

Even when does, there's no guarantee it's going to do well in those territories, especially with movies like F8 being in circulation.

ok, so lionsgate: before they make a movie they presale the movie in international territories to get a majority of the budget, in case of power rangers lionsgate presold power rangers for 75 millon, and put up 25 million of their own money + 30 - 35 million for marketing,

lionsgate is also the distributor in the uk, and put up 5 - 10 million in marketing , historically the north america box office is counted as canada and the u.s for domestic box office, but because of the way lionsgate is setup, they combine the uk and domestic box office because that is how they get paid, and only way they get paid

what other studios do is make a deal to market the movie in other countries, and they take 70% of the box office- minus the movie theatre cut of 45%, and with china other studios market the movie, but only take 30% of the box office, with lionsgate they pre-sale everything, so they see no money except for pre-sale, and Domestic and uk box office

Saban really has to decide if Power Rangers means as much to him as Marvel meant to their stakeholders, when marvel wanted to create a cinematic universe, they went to a bank and got a loan for 500 million by putting the rights to their characters up as collateral , and had proper budgets of 150 - 180 million, i don't see saban taking that route

Power Rangers is not a property that can be done cheap its a CGI / Action / Spectacle franchise & if Saban is not willing to do Power Rangers right he should not do it or find people willing to do it right
