Man Of Steel Soars @ Comic Con - Part 2

Pfft. They still have comic book characters in them that exist from comic book in the firts place. Therefore I will always refer to them as comic book films. There is nothing wrong with this. People like Nolan did change the way we look at comic book films, but it's still a comic book film. I think it's awesome something like TDK, TDKR, and seemingly MOS are taking that kind of approach. But they're still comic book films at their core, no matter how different they dress it up. They're just different visions for a comic book film. And that's fine. And you can still look at it as a film, because that's what it is, but this is a genre of its own and we should be proud people are taking it in other places.

Ok. Chill the **** out, tough guy.:o

Hey, all. I work downtown in Chicago and live outside of Chicago. I was at the set in Plano (my pictures were posted on the front page) and watched filming at a few downtown locations. I previously posted about all of this, but I'll just repeat it here:

- There is a scene in Plano where Superman gets a train thrown at him. I think the train was made out of Styrofoam. A gas station also blows up.
- When they were filming crowd reaction scenes downtown, a production assistant and I were talking for over an hour. He told me in bits and pieces, with my prodding, that there are 3 villains in the movie and one of them is CGI. The CGI villian was being played by a stuntman, not an actual actor.
- One scene in Metropolis involved Zod attacking the city from his ship.
I think people may have missed this important information. IDK but something tells me we're going to see Doomsday in this movie. He will replace Non and will be like Zod's protective dog.

Great information, thank you! I've heard some of this before, but the bit about the CGI villian is certainly enlightening. It's not very surprising, given all we've seen from the set photos and "Mo-Cap Guy." We've also heard a little bit about a ship or ships appearing in the film, I think from the Nuke the Fridge exclusives about the desert scene.

By the way, what area of the city do you work in? I was born and raised in the NW suburbs, and lived in the city through my time at Columbia College in the South Loop. Chicago is one o my favourite places, and I miss it all the time.

IF that cgi vaillian is Doomsday fighting along side zod and faora then superman is toast

"that there are 3 villains in the movie and one of them is CGI"

I thought there might be more than 3, but why people still think mo-cap polehead-man is Zod is beyond me.

Thanx for the info if true. Not too thrilled about stuff being thrown, so I really hope that's not all they do in these movies.

Don't :funny: You know how I feel about that.

I'm the one who said they'd prefer the 'drumroll' over an actual kiss.

But hey, we've got one. And we've got one between Superman and Lois too, not Clark and Lois. So I just have to deal with it.

I'm just worried that it won't make sense. If the film is more focused on Clark and the villain plot and less on the romance (which is what we're all hoping), then the kiss just doesn't seem like it'll be anything more than a forced moment.

It could be an adrenaline fueled be careful moment or a I might never see you again moment.

Only reasons I think it might is in the photos there's Faora and Mo Cap man no Zod in sight and Shannons comments regarding needing CGI for the Zod suit. So we'll have to see I'll be honest I'd love more villains but I'd rather not have a CGI Non or Doomsday. I think what maybe could happen is a barriers broken to the Phantom Zone and there's phantoms in ghostly form and maybe Doomsday breaks through. If they're using some concepts from the failed Superman films maybe Doomsday is like a dog in the way he was for Brainiac in Burtons Superman Lives.

That doesnt really interest me now. I'm saying why would Shannon be in mo-cap gear himself in one shot and a mo-cap stuntman playing him in another shot with a stick on his head?
Because it's two different characters. Zod's probably off wreaking havoc in Metropolis or at the Kent-farm.

they not gonna call him non it's just gonna be a monster from the Phantom Zone.

I bet my money on the third villain being Doomsday just because Synder and Cavill said over and over again that they love "Death of Superman".

I think that Zod and Faora aren't going to be that powerful because they didn't spend that much time on Earth like Superman so Doomsday is going to help them fight Superman.

CGI villain with Zod and Faora? It's going to be Doomsday, Im positive.

I could live with Doomsday being the mo-cap man. That would please a lot of fans having been disappointed with Zod as the villain and since Doomsday is not exactly a strong character they might as well include him now rather than later when bigger or fresher villains enter the ring.

I think Doomsday is going to be like a beast from the Phantom Zone or something. Definitely Zod's pet.

Seeing Superman going in a battle with Doomsday in live-action??!!? :wow::wow::wow:

people wasn't sure about zod because they thought it was gonna be the same lame cheezy version from superman 2.zod gonna be badazz in mos.

I have no doubt he will, but including Doomsday wouldnt hurt Zod's presence. But they might save Doomsday for the inevitable sequel where Supes "dies".

People do realize that Doomsday may be significantly powered down right? Because a real fight between him and Superman would require a huge budget alone..that and I don't think anyone's capable of controlling the creature...and he'd just be in the film to fight superman for a short while since I'm sure they'll want to focus on Zod vs Superman.

Who knows what is going to be their take? I`m thinking they are going to go all out. Should be something similar to what happened in the Justice League cartoons.

Zod is going to have a suit/armor because he isn't going to be that powerful because he didnt spend that much time here on Earth. Same with Faora.

I think that's why Snyder didn't want to answer the villain question at Comic Con. I bet my money Doomsday is in it. And Superman is going to take all the blame in the end for the destruction that happened to Metropolis and Smallville.

But if its some sort of huge power suit
Of course they'd need a stuntman to do the movements as they would need to be more machine like. Look I hope I'm wrong but until I see something official I'm not gonna say for sure there's 2 or 3 villains cause we don't know.

This could eventually end up becoming a bigger debate, in regards to who the mystery MO-Cap Man is, than the whole argument of whether Batman would live or die in TDKR prior to its release.lol

True. We know pretty much nothing. Judging from the CC-footage Zod's armor doesnt look too big though. At least not making him 8 feet tall like whatever the stuntman is playing.

But yeah, we'll see.

including Doomsday wouldnt hurt Zod's presence nall.what it's gonna do is break box office records if he is in the movie.

Thing is we haven't really seen his armour we've seen a pic of him in armour but what's to say he isn't in some bigger contraption that Superman destroys we just don't know.

Trust me nothing would please me more than if you were saying I told you so to me in 11 months time :p

Maybe they made zod's armor a robot instead

but seeing doomsday would be pretty awesome

If he's gonna be in a movie at all, I prefer to see him as a henchperson

I prefer it to be a henchmen as well. I know some people want Brainiac or Doomsday in this, but frankly, there's NO WAY that they could compensate for those characters with everything that's going on. That third villain, if it were a main DC character, would get short changed.

Yeah I can see what you mean but if it were Doomsday for example it could work afterall he is pretty much a mindless beast who was created as a tool to kill Superman, so for me only shirt changing with him would be that he wouldn't kill Superman. But tbh the realistic tone of the film etc I don't think a creature or any sort is gonna appear I still think its Zods armoured suit/machine thing.

The reason why I speculated about Tor-An or Dev-Em being on Earth was because actors were supposedly spotted in their CGI costumes while filming in Plano.

That's right, there were actors in mocap suits seen on the Kent farm in Plano. Two guys walking behind Michael Shannon, who is on the far right:

You're probably right. MoCap man is with Faora against Superman, while Zod looks to be at the Kent farm with the other Kryptonians. We saw Superman going to the Kent farm, which has been wrecked (a vehicle is in the side of the house.)
