Man Of Steel Soars @ Comic Con - Part 2

:atp: I swear that man is just too ridiciously attracitive. :fhm:

I never watched the Tudors, so I'm not really famililar with him. Though he has some nice eyes...and other parts.

Hahaha, "other parts", yes! When he was cast and we got the announcement, I could just imagine a ton of male fans that weren't familiar with him, rushing to Youtube to see who this guy is, and then finding a staggering amount of squeeing and gushing from female fans in the video comments LOLZ. It must have felt like two universes, two sections of fandom colliding.

But it's all good, no, it's fantastic Henry's got such a huge female following! We need to get as many butts into seats as possible when the movie is released. I'm hopeful Superman will gain in popuarity among women after MOS, I really am. He should get the attention he deserves. Casting Henry was a masterstroke.

And since this is a Comic-Con thread, I've noticed a lot of audience questions come from women. The interest is definitely there. Years ago when Tom Welling was at the Smallville panel, one girl went to the mic and asked him a question, then added if he could please reply it slowly, so she'd have him looking at her for as long as possible or something like that. It was hysterical! :D The audience laughed and so did the panelists and Tom was a good sport and did just what she asked. "Weeell, IIIIII saaaay...." he went.

Henry looked really nice at the panel, if a little tired. He was adorable. Hope he comes back next year, together with Amy Adams!

IMO, this ONE factor depends on how they portray Lois. If she comes off like an ass then it doesn't matter how hot he is. I believe one of the reasons Supes has such a large fan base with women (even to this day) is because of the Supes/Lois/Clark dynamic. When done right it's magic...always. When done wrong...like SR...it's a tragedy.

This is the funniest story I have ever heard. That's awesome. I always liked Tom Welling and can't understand why he got such hate.

She's the wild card for me. I wonder why she wasn't at SDCC? I would have liked to see them together. A lot of folks keep saying she looks way older than Cavill and I don't want another old looking Lois ala Kidder.

And this is what I feel like is the ace up the sleeve for MoS, because they cast Amy Adams, probably the most famously likable A-list actress in Hollywood, for the role. Likability is her superpower. So whatever is (or isn't) there on the page for Lois, Amy will make us love her and root for her. That's what she does. There's NO WAY we'll have another SR/Bosworth situation on our hands this time.

I agree, the Clois factor was sorely lacking in SR and there was no Clark/Lois/Superman triangle to speak of. I don't know if it's because of the way Lois was written (save for that one scene of them flying, there weren't any "romantic" scenes, and she ignored Clark) or because of Bosworth's acting or a mix of both. With Richard there, it isn't easy to develop Clois, and it's not like it can go anywhere. It would be different if Lois and Richard were just dating and there was no child, because then Clark would be another interested guy/Richard's rival, instead of being, well, almost an intruder.

No idea why Amy didn't show up at Comic-Con and I don't even know if she ever attended it before. A lot of fans, particularly male (from what I've seen anyway), have gripes about her age ("old woman" I've seen her being called) but IMO, she has enough of a youthful look, while Henry looks a bit older than he actually is.

Some fans have been wondering how quickly she'll age, though, if this is going to be a trilogy. I'm hoping she's so good in the role, no one will care about her age anymore, like how folks left and right complained about Anne playing Catwoman when the casting announcement came but many now admit she was amazing (and she was)!

I think we will get some shots of those piercing blues in mos. The shot on the trailer where he looks up from the fishing boat shows them off well, and I'd like to think we'll get some better shots than that. Great post btw

Yeah, the intensity of the blue can certainly be increased by the color timing of the image, as that photo demonstrates.

Here's another look at it:

Agreed; and out of all of the actresses to have played the role, she's the only one to have a lot of impressive credentials attached to her resume prior towards taking on the role. Every other actress only started to become popular by the mainstream media because of them having accepted the role of "Lois Lane".

jim lee all the way

I got rather bored of Lee's artwork way back when he was doing Xmen. Some have referred to him as sort of the "Michael Bay of comic artists", and in some ways that's rather fitting. He's not a bad illustrator by any means, but it's all a bit soul-less, despite being so slick and clinical.

Tom Grummett is the best Superman artist EVER, imo. Really love Dan Jurgens and Jose-Garcia Lopes too.

Just like Jessica Alba and her lousy portrayal of Sue "the Invisible Woman" Storm. I'll never forgive her for that not that I'm much of a fan of hers anyway! I just hope the new F4 Cast will be a lot more acceptable the next time around.

Amy Adams was HOT in The Office. I didn't even realize it was her.

The only movies with Amy Adams I remember are The Muppets and Enchanted. I thought she was very refreshing in Enchanted. The Muppets was a snore, but she did well and I do remember thinking she seems very likable. That's definitely a good sign.

Looking at the picture Project posted I agree Cavill looks older then his age. It could be his facial hair, which I'm sure he's not going to have once he dons his Clark persona. I do worry about her aging if there are more films beyond just MOS, but looking at her currently I'm not as worried.

I truly hopes she knocks the role out of the park.

You should check out The Fighter. Her character in that had a lot more attitude than in those 2 movies you mentioned, and if anything, it made her even MORE likable.

I did not know she was in that!!!! I've been looking at that in my Netflix queue forever...I think I'll check it out. Thanks! :yay:

Actually of all the films i've seen her in, I think I liked Sunshine Cleaning the best :)

No problem! It's a great movie in general. Adams, Christian Bale and Melissa Leo were all fantastic in it (and all deservedly nominated for Oscars for it, too).

Yeah, that was a great one, too.

So how does he shave that anyway? Kryptonian razor in the spaceship? Bet you Lara packed that, men generally just just chuck in shorts, a shirt and underpants (and we didn't even get that this time! :woot: )...

Heat vision! That's actually one of those random things from the comics I really hope to see in this one.

 As written in the sacred text.

That's utter bull, seriously. Using heat vision against a human-built mirror (animated series), I mean wth!?!?!?!?

Everything being relative, if I burn my beard off with something, my skin would ALSO burn! Does this happen to Clark, NO!!!!

This is utter rubbish. In a film about a man who can fly, heat stuff with his eyes (not just women), withstand heavy artillery fire and survive (holding breath or no) in space - This is just a step too far, I'm sorry!!!

Hope it ends up in the film :D
