I'm actually amazed at Marvel's inability to give its audience what it wants sometimes.

If lots of people are telling them they want to see a book with a certain character you would think from a business point of view they would make that book.

yeah but if you are taking over the mantle of a character then you should have abilities like that character. Would we be ok if a character taking over The Flash mantle was a shapeshifter?

Not a joke, I would actually be interested in such a character. Shape shifting and androgyny just go together.

I don't see it as her "taking over the mantle", which has been the case with The Flashes. She's just using the name Carol used to. Vance Astrovik didn't have the same powers as The Uranian when he started using the name Marvel Boy, and Noh Varr didn't have the same abilities as Vance. Hell, Sharon "She-Thing" Ventura was Ms. Marvel for a while and the only power she had in common with Carol is superstrength.

Faiza Hussain (Excalibur) was in the Age Of Ultron tie in and I think she is showing up in the upcoming Marvel UK Revolutionary war comics.

I don't see anything wrong with someone who doesn't have the same powers taking up a mantle (Monica Rambeau was Captain Marvel for a while) but all the people involved in the PR stunt should be ashamed at their ignorance of the other existing Muslim characters in the MU.

Although Dominican, not Filipino, Masquerade from the Blood Syndicate (from the defunct Milestone Comics) fits your other criteria.

So I guess X-Force is becoming one title again and relaunching with Cable, Psylocke, Fantomex and Marrow. Good. Too many X books and no need for two X-Force. I dig that team. Add Dom and we are set.

Its not like he's all over the X-Men universe. Can be a very interesting character when written by Remender. Hopefully Spurrier gets an idea why he worked in UXF VOl1 and why he didn't in Vol2.

I consider myself a casual fan of Carol Danvers/Ms. Marvel/Captain Marvel and I'm totally fine with this new Ms. Marvel. A teenager discovering powers while dealing with the pressures of family and high school may not be terribly original anymore but at least it's something different from "[Add Adjective Here] Avengers and [Add Adjective Here] X-Men". And it couple potential pull in the younger readers they desperately need.

Muslim. Shapeshifter. Who cares? Carol is still flying around doing her Captain Marvel thing.

It's okay but not wow worthy, at least to me. The art is decent. I just love him anyway.

Nothing says that Marrow's confirmed other than that "kinda looks like Marrow" chick on the cover. At least I've not read anything stating she's on the team. Other than her though is Cable, Psylocke. and Fantomex.
