True, that was the reason for their original creation (mainly because of publishing and time constraints. Stan's got a dozen hit characters, it's much easier to throw a few of them into one book so he doesn't have to write as many seperate stories) But it took no time after the original Avengers began for the book to develope it's own style, and eventually legacy.

This is true that the original creation of the team did indeed seem to be geared towards sales rather than content.

I have heard that the series has gotten better by leaps and bounds since that almost embarassing first arc.

I still haven't read any of it though, so it's all just hearsay to me.

Fabian Nicieza, however, is the exact opposite, he uses TOO MUCH foreshadowing and mystery, to the point where the enjoyments gets squeezed out of the story.

I dunno, I think Cable/Deadpool is enjoyable.

Yeah, I read almost evey Deadpool appearance ever. I hated how Kelly ended his run. The T Ray thing really erked me and left me kinda sour to his run. Also I didn't like how he got rid of Al. Nicieza's run reminds me of Kelly's run in some ways. Priest's run is my favorite on Deadpool.

I think that Doom getting out of Hell simply by Moji's passing just adds to the import and power of it. How they handled it AFTER the fact is what was bad.
