MCU: The Marvel Cinematic Universe Official Discussion - Part 4

I personally think something like Runaways or another small property would suit Whedon better than something like the Avengers. He would feel he has more freedom and that he can own it more than the Avengers. He could do it more like his own TV series and be free to kill of whoever he wants. And it's closer to the type of stories he has previously told or created.

Although he has done well with the Avengers so far, maybe it's not quite his personal thing in the end.

I have no clue. But, timing-wise, it made too much sense for them not to do a second show. If they have a half-hour, they have another half-hour to go.

I hope the new comedy series is She-Hulk. She could easily cross over with Daredevil and Damage Control and you'd have zany fourth wall breaking humor mixed with some interesting arcs about various legal cases. The best part is that if Jeph Loeb is really smart, he'd find a way to work actual property law into the show so it would be educational and you'd learn a thing or two about liability insurance despite the fantastic circumstances of a fight between Spider-Man and Doc Ock and how that would affect the shop owner whose property got destroyed if the guy who did it was an escaped convict arrested for doing so and if he's still liable to pay up.

Well, hopefully the sitcoms have some very catchy tunes. A lot of my favorite sitcoms have catchy themes and they hook me in because of those catchy themes.

I have some ideas on how a new comedy series would work, but I don't know if these ideas used before can work in the MCU, one of which is an idea of a 30 Rock type show set in the MCU.

I think this could work:

Make this happen, Marvel. PLEASE!

I'd also accept She-Hulk, but Hank Johnson should be top priority. D-Man would be another great option.

D-Man is lame. He never had his own series that I know of. He was only interesting as Scourge.

She-Hulk on the other hand is made for a TV sitcom.

Am I the only person who doesn't care to see She-Hulk in the MCU?

Am I the only one hoping for a Squirrel Girl series? lol

But yeah, She-HUlk could also be great! :)

She-Hulk in the MCU. She would be way more interesting than Hulk. At least she has a personality and can talk.

Disagree. Vehemently. To me, Hulk/Banner is one of the most interesting characters in the MCU. Also, I know I'm in the minority, but I prefer a Hulk with only very rudimentary language skills. It just explores and underscores the Banner/Hulk dichotomy in an extremely poignant way. If Hulk were capable of full sentences... stemming from rational thought, he'd just be less interesting to me as a character.

As for She-Hulk, I'm more or less ambivalent either way, but overall, I'd rather the MCU be devoid of secondary/tertiary Hulks. Including, but not limited to Red-, She-, Red-She-, etc. All of that just came off as extremely derivative to me.

I agree. I think that the Hulk has always been the most interesting when there's some of that Jekyll/Hyde thing going on. Of course you can get a version of that with a talking Hulk but you do lose some of the "rage monster" quality and it sets him less apart from the others.

Bruce Banner is interesting. Hulk is pretty cool in small doses, but gets boring pretty quickly. I disagree that She-Hulk comes across as "extremely derivative." She retains a lot of her intelligence and self-control much better than Hulk and she has a much better personality. She's not just another Hulk.

I would like to see She-Hulk at some point, but am uncertain on what the best way to actually do it would be. It might be one of those things where there just isn't a good way to execute as of yet- say, if the best narrative way would be as metahumor action comedy on TV, but the SFX budget does not exist to support such.

Now, by contrast, I want Squirrel Girl, and I want her now. ;)

Hulk(bruce) in the comics has become highly intelligent and even became doc green.Even now hulk in cartoons is really smart.
Hulk may become this in the next thor film from what i heard.
You could see him getting smarter in avengers 2 at the end when he leaves.

If you think the Marvel Cinematic Universe has added all the characters it possibly can, think again.
