I'm curious. Exactly how many toys Pearlmutter thought he would sell? That seems like pretty flimsy reasoning there. He really has it in for women.

The irony is that I don't even think there was a single action figure released of either "Mandarin" (Trevor Slattery or Killian). I mean, yeah there was a Hot Toys Trevor but it's not like that was aimed at kids.

If you read the full interview, Shane Black makes it clear that the change wasn't Feige's fault and that it was Perlmutter/other doinks in corporate that were responsible and have nothing to do with MCU movies anymore.

In fact, Cate Blanchett is playing a villain in Thor: Ragnarok *coughHelacoughplzcough* and that casting was announced after Perlmutter got the boot.

I'll point out in fairness that Perlmutter wasn't mentioned either. It's easy to suspect him, but we probably shouldn't be throwing around his name as if it's a certainty.

Don't jump for joy just yet. He's still got power over the TV side. That means he gets to potentially mess around with AoS, Cloak & Dagger and all the Netflix shows.

I wish, since they aren't strictly on TV, that the Netflix shows would fall more under the movie division than the TV division. That way there could be more crossover and it would simply be an extension of the movies that happens to be distributed on the web, as opposed to an extension of the TV division.

If they could somehow push Ike out and have Loeb report directly to Feige, that would achieve the cohesion that we are looking for.

Part of me wishes they'd take out the network TV show stuff altogether. I've enjoyed AoS and Agent Carter for the most part but the Netflix series have cemented themselves as the best superhero television shows out there and have really raised the bar.

Scarlet Witch is ok, but I think MS really need to do some work on her.
So far nothing that I've seen of her (still haven't watched Civil War, dammit) seems to suggest that she would be interesting as a leading character, outside of her cool powers of course.

Then again... I guess that's exactly what her solo movie could be for?
And it's a shame they killed Quicksilver btw, having two siblings as the leading characters would've been something new and different for the MCU, but oh well.

Maybe the craziness of Infinity War will bring QS back? I hope. TBH I think it would have been better had Hawkeye been the one to bite it, or Black Widow. I like both characters but that would have allowed us to get to know Quicksilver more (who I really liked).

Well, Loeb is very involved with the Netflix shows, and Loeb reports to Perlmutter, so yeah. If he wanted to he could mess that up as well.

I wish they banished him to deal only with the toys side of the business and put someone else in charge of TV business, both live action and animated.
Toys are what he likes anyway. He would be happy there and allow everyone else to do what needs to be done.

I wou;dn't mind getting rid of AoS, but Agent Carter has so much potential that was never even realized. I'd like to see Netflix pick it up and make it more cinematic and focused like the Defenders shows.

It's probably not going to affect them. The toy sales they're concerned about are kids toys. Netflix isn't at all marketing towards kids.
