Dunno if this has been posted yet.. but.. wow.

^ That looks like Grant Morrison and Joel Schumacher had a gang bang with the Tumbler.

If that Collider article is true, we may be seeing a sleeker Tumbler that would be so great.

^ I hope we get something more along the lines of an actual Batmobile... and that's it. I really don't wanna see a Batboat or Batwing in this film.

That would be great too. Who knows, maybe a sleeker tumbler could be made to look like the batmobile we all know and love

What's with all the sports car inspired batmobiles??? Don't people realize that that would not fit into Nolan's real world based version of Batman? A sports car batmoble would get f***ed up just going over a f***ing pot hole. Geez.

As opposed to the Bat-Pod, which has been described by stunt crew as impossible to steer and turn. How about the Tumbler, and it's 2.5 tons jumping on and driving over rooftops?

The realism argument only works when it suits them. If we were really that concerned about realism then Batman shouldn't exist at all.

This is an example of how many people misunderstand what Nolan is trying to achieve in the Batman films. He's striving for "heightened realism", a term he has used, rather than realism.

That is to say, the films are not realistic but rather the gap b/w what is real and the suspension of disbelief is narrowed in his approach to a fantastical character. He accomplishes this by focusing on the practical, logical elements of the character and the story. He labels this concept as "heightened realism" which people misinterpret to mean realism.

Is it possible that they just might bring back The Tumbler? I thought that Fox said there were two of them, maybe I misunderstood? If so, it seems like Wayne would just upgrade it?

Are you telling me this, or are you agreeing with me?

I love this. Basically a sleeker tumbler but without the ears part. Keep the flaps from the old tumblers

Ya......The most important thing is, it has to look tough, BB batmoile, batpod, they all look tough.

I guess this time it won't got the "rush-looking" as batpod, more like a speed-up+morden version of the old one~~

realism in this movie is more about character development rather then gadgets and stuff he is doing while dressed up.
i mean its a more realistic approach to, why he becomes the batman.
the other thing on " how " he becomes and " what " he is able to do, extends to the fictional side yet trying to keep a certain balance between whats possible and what not.

I signed on just to give my opinions on this topic.

I think a sleeker Tumbler would be cool, but given Batman's "on the run" status I could see the use of a sports car of some sort. Perhaps not as outlandish as some of the stuff we have seen posted though. It would seem to me that Bruce might want something that blends better with it's surroundings(and by that I do not mean paint jobs or anything like that, but rather the actual design of the vehicle) so he could drive down the street and the cops wouldn't be any the wiser that this is Batman. Tinted windows, black sports car(maybe like a street racer type deal), but with a strong chassis and armored plating beneath, reinforced bulletproof windows etc. For it to be strong and stand up to punishment it doesn't have to look like a tank.

Plus, there are numerous Batmobiles that have been little more than Lamborghinis or Corvettes that were black. 70's comic Batmobiles were all Corvettes.

Also, here's a Batmobile that no one seems to have pointed to(forgive me if it already has been, I can't wade through all these pages) and it's from a kid's toy line. My son has it, though in a blue with black accents variant.

That, to me, is like a cross between sleek comic Batmobiles and the Tumbler.

Strange that you heard the stunt crew described the Bat-Pod as such but somehow missed the part where they successfully designed the Tumbler to go from 0-60 mph in a second (eventually filming scenes with it going 80 to 100) and make jumps. It can also smash cars and make all the crazy turns we see it do. Yes, outside of the film's reality and in ours.

Here's part of a documentary describing the development process and how much effort and time and care they put into making it really work and perform:

Wow that was awesome, thanks a lot! How much money did they spend on that thing?

I didn't mention anything about how fast it could go, did I? I did mention a 2.5 ton jumping and driving over the roofs of old buildings as being unrealistic, which it is.

No, The Tumbler goes 0-60 in 5.6 second. The only sports car that I know of that can go 0-60 in a second is a Bugatti Veyron. Even McLaren's can't go that fast.
