Nothing tops the Krypton opening for me in MOS.
I felt the intro was good, but one thing stand out for me - Clark's mother. She gave the best performance there. Easy to tear up. Everyone were great, but she stood out to me.

Very epic, the uh part when Jor-El runs out and that entire coup' was sensational. Stunned me in the theatres, when I saw it again on blu-ray I cried, cause it was so beautiful!

Agreed! It was deep and powerful. He gets it, because this is truly the first CBM to inspire me.
And it's easy to lose these important themes behind fantastic action, costumes and intrigues, but if you kinda put it away for a minute and think of what happened... What hit you so hard? What did you miss but still felt?

This is positive: Here in Italy BvS seems to be loved not more or less than The Avengers. Massive box office, good reactions from the public.
This is so nice to see for me, I remember very well how sad I was seeing Superman Returns totally ignored by the public in a period in which Raimi's Spidermans were considered "must-see films".

Watch this guy's review:

[YT]rKRmMQaLZz8&feature[/YT]

Really touching.

The "Martha" scene was fantastic!
But I interpret it little differently: The name "Martha" was not the reason Batman changed his mind, but due to the same name, he was able to realize the true nature of Superman.

The name was so deep in Bruce's subconscious, that it made him stop when he heard it. And that let him hear Superman begging for help and explaining the situation and he sees Lois, this human girl, running towards Superman and Batman realizes that Superman is actually just a guy with a mother too, who's been tricked and has this human girl who cares about him and mother that needs help right now, which is something sooo deep inside his psyche, etc...

edit: typos.

The opening sequence on Krypton in MOS is easily my favourite opening sequence to a film ever.

Totally agreed

I hope more people see it, because it really breaks down what makes this film so philosophically powerful. It's a challenging experience to watch your two favorite heroes be so broken, but it makes the third act that much more uplifting. It's the entire reason why I can't get behind the "joyless" critiques. I felt so damn emotionally invigorated by the end.
I would certainly like more people to see it.

Please, I want to see much more "joyless" stuff like this. Invigorating - perfect. And thought-provoking. And these are the reasons I want to watch it over and over again. Beside beautiful imaginary, fantastic performances and action.

The Martha scene is one that has been overlooked by many many critics, the wonderful review above shows that a lot of those who took the movie down stayed on the surface, there's a lot more to the film than you'd think, it's wonderfully written imo.

Ayelet Zurer is the actress playing Lara in the MOS opening, she's Vanessa in Daredevil ;) wonderful performance indeed. Seriously, that MOS opening is indeed one of the best scenes of all time I'd say, that moment of silence, without any music, when Jor-El gets stabbed stands out. And the VFX is astounding.

I think the release of the "deleted" scene is a brilliant move even though it was planned this way, from a marketing pt of view, it's brilliant, it's getting a lot of likes on YT too :)

Countdown?

The lexos site is still counting down to something, I assume another deleted scene. I thought it was halfway done earlier today, but it is moving extremely slowly. Maybe next week?

I do hope WB put new gods in their next slate of movies.

Been listening to the soundtrack, wow!!!

People said the score was weak and MOS was better, but I think BVS has an awesome musical score.

WW's theme and Lex's theme are so memorable.

Plus I realized this movie is the first NON Cliche superhero movie.

It's so different, Snyder and Co went the other way where everyone was expecting a Superman/Batman to go.

The Critics crucified him for that, but in time, they will see the genius on that move.

Rhetorical or are you seriously asking me?

Ohh interesting

I'm with the more "joyless" stuff .

As do I! Gimme Orion and if possible some Scott Free. Though I'd prefer they wait off on Darkseid as long as possible, ya know save the best for last, but don't stall him too much. However, if they do decide to bring him right away I won't really care because IT'S FREAKIN' DARKSEID!

The fans will see the genius on that move. Not the critics, though. And even if they do, we'll never know about it. The fans will eventually see it.

It's kind of amazing that I've seen quite a few people saying that Snyder does not understand those characters, that he's basically a kid playing in the sandbox, and as we see the film, and dissect it and reflect it, we know this couldn't be more wrong.

I feel like too many only see the flash in Snyder's direction, and turn a blind eye to the rest. Man Of Steel is, at least to me, a really poetic, emotional film that shows a really sensitive and skilled director.

Same for BvS.

-Have you found the spear?
-I've been a little busy.

Made me smile. Damn, Affleck is so boss as both Batman and Bruce Wayne.

Haha yeah that was great, nice little humour moment there
