Does anyone feel the more they think about the film, the ideas, the emotional roller coaster of it all, they end up loving it more?

The first time I saw it, I liked it. Now I'm really loving it after the second viewing. I honestly want to go see it one more time in IMAX.

Yep. Saw it at the fan screening and thought it was good. I was mainly excited over Batman and the Flash cameo.

Then I read the reviews, got down on the movie a little. Saw it again and looked for the flaws and what people were complaining about. Wound up liking it even more.

The next day I saw it in true 70mm IMAX. Absolutely fell in love. I think I'm addicted to it now.

I think people will appreciate it more with time. Just like Man of Steel. People need time to calm down, to reflect, to see what this movie is about, it's themes. And we need to see Ultimate Cut to make a final judgement.

Overall, this drama won't calm down for months. Regardless of how much money BvS makes in the end, regardless if Zack stays or goes, upcoming Civil War and Apocalypse will only fuel further debates on what is right and wrong, who failed or who succeeded. Then comes Suicide Squad, which will also spark new discussions like "is WB and DCEU worthy"?

Dark times, cruel times.

It's definitely going that way for me. I don't understand how anyone can hate this film, I really don't. Even the scenes I hated weren't enough to bring it down.

I've seen it 4 times. Once in regular IMAX, twice in IMAX 3D (only one was 70 mm), & once in standard. It's best viewed in the 70mm IMAX 3D, imo. I hope this movie continues to make money and am 100% confident that it's going to be one of those movies that is better over time and the more it's viewed. The movie did its job opening up the DCEU and furthering Superman's characterization. I cannot wait for the extended cut.

I loved the opening scene when Bruce is taken up by the Bats. Worked really well with the music. When his feet rose up I actually got a lump in my throat. I really need to grow up.

Almost wish bruce didn't say "In the dream they take me up to the light", so it could be a sort of supernatural experience. This is after all a new DC universe of immortals, Aliens, demons, monsters and possessions etc.

Nah, don't lose that Wormy :woot:

I thought he was being lifted for real for a moment in that scene, what an opening to a movie it is.

Saw the film again last night and just popped in to say that my favorite scene is probably the Day of the Dead one. I just freaking love the edit from Bruce watching Diana speed off to this glorious shot of Superman gliding down in slow mo with the little girl. It doesn't waste time and just hits you with it. And a split second after the cut you get that wonderful two-note cue for Superman (whatever it's called, the one from "Look to the Stars" that opens Man of Steel).

I've got minor quibbles here and there with the film, but it's moments like these that make me completely forget them. This scene was perfect.

Yes it was, hence I loved this film so much. It wasn't formulaic at all, in the general superhero/comic book movie sense.

I think that whether you love or hate the film, that essay should really be used to frame your perspective. The breakdown was just so well articulated. I won't be able to look at the film through any other lens at this point.

That scene was so Superman, loved it. Here he is on to Bruce Wayne, knows he's Batman and doesn't trust him at all. Sticking to his ideals of bringing this vigilante who is trampling on civil liberties to justice. But then, he notices this girl in danger on the television. No time is wasted at all as he ditches this personal vendetta of his to rescue someone in need, classic Superman.

Just found a very interesting essay about the movie.

Batman v Superman: the modern revenge tragedy.
This blew me freaking away. :hmr: I knew the film isn't that simple, I always felt I saw something very important, but couldn't wrap my head around everything. This is "scientific" explanation of what many of us feel about the film's story and themes.

What's funny... I remember the first impression of the film was from two Pakistan dudes, who went to early screening. They certainly didn't look like literature buffs, but one of them said Batman v Superman is like Hamlet. Later, I read on this board from someone, that those guys probably were high when they said it. :lmao:

Is it me or that court scene with the explosion was one of the most TENSE scene ever , lots of silence and you read what's going into Finch's mind . She understand the whole plan in 10 seconds but it's too late

In the french version it's stupid because the translation to ''you'll be in the hot seat in there'' is ''it's gonna be explosive in there'' . I gives everything away (even though yeah you can see it coming I know)

Yes, it's not just some I dunno torture porn or something, or whatever people want to call it.

This essay made the film feel even darker and creepier for me for some reason. Madness, revenge, ghosts, death...
Damn, next time I'm gonna watch it, I will be so knowledgeable and educated... :D

Haha, it will indeed be really cool to watch the film again having this perspective in mind.

The author said it: If you felt confused by the plot or that the plot was sparse, I really hope this helps to change your mind. For people that loved it and thought it was brilliant but couldn’t articulate why, this is my love letter to you.

I for one loved the movie. I'm GLAD DC finally has their own Cinematic Universe.
I think it needs to be given a chance.

Haven't seen this talked about that much in here. But during the bvs fight when after Batman smashes him through the window, he starts punching Superman in the face then when the kryptonite starts to ware off, Superman's jaw turn to steel and Batman steps back like "ahh I f'ed up now" lmao. Just thought that was a funny part in the movie for me lol.

Loved this film. I loved the new batman and lex. Superman's story was so good in this. Felt so bad for him. My favourite bits were probably the opening credits with Bruce running, lex and superman on the rooftop and all batman fights and Bruce and Alfred. I was so scared I'd hate it going in due to the reactions on the boards but it was perfect. My brother who adores Nolan and bale also wants to see it again and we're gonna see it again with my dad on Sunday, can't wait

Definitely. I hope it makes loads of money, just because it'll offset the reviews and further encourage WB to move forward with the tone they've set. Not that they plan on backing off anyways.

I loved it. I chuckled a bit and looked at my brother and just smiled. I've always been a Superman fan and he's always been a Batman fan.

Needless to say, he smiled a lot during that fight. Loved Affleck's take on Batman. He was dead set against him at first, then the pictures came out and he slowly got on board.

yeah i kinda feel that way. on the one hand when i see it again i am more exposed to all the flaws- but regardless my overall experience was enhanced. after my initial viewing i honestly didn't expect I would see it again- i even said 1 time is good enough. But i wanted to take my dad so i bucked up...and what do u know, I liked it more than i did the first time!
