Did I miss some news today? Saw comments of Zack leaving or something, I hope that's not true.

Anyway, just got our of my 3rd. It just gets better every time
I believe it was an April Fool's joke from last night.

Do you guys know Snyder confirmed that Darkseid is looking for something that is 'opposite of life'.in his interview.

Thank you sir!

So I had a thought. Since it's establish there are a lot of religious allegory in the DCEU involving Supeman so far, do you guys think it was intentional that this trilogy featuring Superman was meant for him to die in the second movie, so he he can resurrected in the third? You know, in line with the whole Jesus being risen on the third day and all.
I just hope they don't follow the comic entirely and have Superman go full-on Rambo mode with guns ablazing.

glad there's a thread like this on here, the hatred of some people on the movie is just plain tiring. to be clear I'm not saying all of those who have valid criticisms are wrong.

I saw the movie and liked it but I do understand why some people disliked it. I don't get the venom towards it though. I will say I don't believe people were paid to dislike or anything like that. I think the mistake was making Superman so dark and the universe is so gloomy. As far as the drop goes, I truly don't understand why it's dropping so hard because it's really not that bad. Maybe not being kid friendly?

We have been regularly infracting people on both sides of the argument since the movie opened. I posted a warning against people making assumptions about why people are posting positive things about the movie in another thread just a few hours ago, and I know there was another clean-up of off-topic and offending posts in the Box Office thread earlier today. We're doing our best, is all I can say. There's just a lot of this stuff to wade through.

It's also worth noting (and this was my logic when I reopened this thread) that folks are free to go into the box office thread, defend their opinions, etc. Fans of the movie complained about the mean old haters coming into the positivity thread and disagreeing with them. Thus, this thread was made to only allow nice things to be said. It's not meant to be a safe haven where you can complain about the opinions of other without those people being able to defend themselves. In other words, if you don't like what people are saying in the box office thread, go there and debate them. People who disagree with what is being said in this thread do not have that option. Therefore a higher degree of civility is required. In essence, it's a trade off for having a thread where no one can contradict you.

Fair warning, a post like this, about this, in this thread in particular might get you infracted.
Or so I've read.

Marvin, you a fan of the film then? Don't think I've read your thoughts?

Yea I really dug it.
I tend to avoid reviews and stuff, especially of the post viewing sporadic nature. Give it time to sink in a few weeks.

I do however think WB/DC is facing a crossroads. This sort of reaction whatever the cause doesn't seem all that sustainable. Luckily, like the mcu it won't all hinge on one creator as of this point.

Some awesome concept art

The mods on this site are something else
Yep, they are. They are fantastic and hardworking people who bust their asses and do a service for this site with no pay and no compensation. The only thing they get for maintaining the board and ensuring that it is one of the best message boards on the internet is complaints. But they do it anyway. That is indeed something else.

You would think they would relate to snyders superman.
Can't please everyone.

Bingo Marvin. I agree. Snyder isn't directing everything. The David Ayers, Patty Jenkins and James Wann ' s I'm sure will like a piece of the pie. It's going to be different. Hell, even George Miller consulted in talks with WB. Wonder Woman comes before Justice League and I always believed that regardless of the reception of Batman V Superman, Wonder Woman is the KEY to the successes of the DCEU. Not only did the audience's react positively to her, but they are excited for her solo which in turn, should boost Justice League: Return of the Superman (hah!). I think WB should stick their ground and stick to the plan. It's only just begun. I think we were already destined to get what people wanted anyhow. The JL just can't be this dark forever. The world will change.

With Ayer's and Jenkins' films being the next two, people will get a taste of how eclectic DCEU's palette will likely be. Hopefully it will be enough to sweep away the critics' preprogrammed vitriol and the resultant skepticism.

But the issue here is that Snyder will still be involved with the BIG films, at least up to JL1. DCEU needs JL1 to be the Avengers of the DCEU, bringing in the big bucks and being a event. Even though I like BvS, I can understand the divisive nature of Snyder's presence. Especially after RTgate with BvS, I don't know if critics will go into JL even giving him a chance anymore. Snyder REALLLLY needs JL to hit a home run.

It doesn't matter if your solo films do well, if your big ensemble isn't carrying the torch when it's suppose to, that's a problem. The last thing we need is JL RT to be even lower than BvS's. Don't get me wrong, I still want Snyder to finish off his story he started in MoS, but I just want him to really hit the home run and make JL be as well received and financially successful as possible.

if it really is as all these people say, an issue of 'writing' 'directing' and 'editing' then snyder being on board as producer on these other solo's shouldn't be much of a problem on the final result.
It people simply don't like the ideas and 'the darker' tone, whose to say what will happen.

I for one think snyder will finish out his trilogy of films, with terio(we supposedly trust lol), already explaining that he's probably done after jla1. And I'm hoping George miller finally get's his JLA film with all that has been set up. He is WB and Genre's darling right now. And he is already on board as a producer. Seems like the gears are already in motion tbh.
