No Time To Die (Bond 25)

Die Another Day is the worst for me. You Only Live Twice isn't very good to me, but the background music worked for segues in the actual movie.

You Only Live Twice is universally renowned and lauded. There's no comparison between the two, or even between YOLT and many of the others.

It even was the inspiration for Robbie Williams's "Millennium".
The subjectivity of art and all that.

then his willingness to do it for Madeleine wouldn't have felt so phony.
To be fair, I think the notion that his evil adopted brother being the perpetrator of every major conflict he has (still kinda ridiculous) is probably a bigger factor than Maddy's "I love you" for leaving the spy life.

Somehow I don't think that Bond really feels betrayed by his evil adopted brother and probably isn't the subject of the theme song.

But maybe how this film changes everything is that:

a) Vesper comes back from the dead only to betray him
b) Madeleine betrays him
c) Tracey shows up, marries him and dies (but not before betraying him)
d) Blofeld reminds Bond that he is his adopted brother and he betrayed him
e) Elektra shows up (even though she's from a different continuity) and also betrays him
d) M comes back from the dead and betrays him
f) Bond finds out his parents betrayed him before they died in a mountain accident.

I don't know why but, I am sensing that you see BETRAYAL as a theme for this film.

Huh? I wasn't talking about the song at all, just the notion of him leaving the spy life for Maddy vs for Vesper. And the thing with his brother isn't so much him feeling betrayed, but probably more a sense of finality that the guy behind all his major conflicts is not behnd bars, so it probably felt like the right time to "hang up his cape" too, so to speak.

...made my own Blu-Ray covers last night, still need to settle on a theme for NTTD. Might keep it simple like Casino Royale’s, just use lines/shapes since the rest have a lot of texture.

Here are my crappy photos of my computer screen I took way too late last night; you can see my layout that I’m carrying through out each of the five.

Also, don’t know why they’re not posting with the correct orientation... my SPECTRE theme is the octopus with dripping aspects (took a bit to cut/steal the png of this).

Should have the finals finished tonight.
Those are really neat man. :D

Did Madeleine gaslight Bond the whole time?

What if the whole of Craig's tenure is him being gaslighted by everyone and it was all one big Truman show-type charade?

Maybe Vesper and M are still alive and watching him behind some screens. It will all be pulled back at the end to reveal it was a con to make him believe he was Bond. Then Pierce Brosnan will walk in and say

James Bond was really just a code name the whole time like Jason Bourne. They were all gaslighting him to mold him into a colder, better spy. A blunt instrument!

I still think the theme song in the QOS game was way better than the movie

I suspect Craig’s bond will die and there will be a new person who will take up the name Bond..

Craig may die... and a new actor will play Bond again... but, no one will take up the name Bond again. It’s not a mantel, it’s a character.

These are his 5 films, and someone else will come along again like Bale/Pattinson for Batman.

I like the idea of it being a persona... a given codename after the prior is killed or retired

I feel like, not only is the codename theory stupid because it’s specifically at odds with what the novels and films state, but it also drastically undercuts the character’s arc. James Bond is the man he is because of the experiences that shaped him, not because he’s trying to act like some other guy who was in the service a few decades ago.

Bond's dying words will be "this never happened to the other fella." :o

Rami Malek- You've been fob watched since 2002. You're actually a timelord in disguise. You're not human

Bond- What?

*explodes with regeneration energy*

Phobe-Waller Bridge- Hello everyone!

::gets in an Aston Martin with a confused human companion, er, Bond girl::

“I don’t suppose you know how to drive one of these?”

I finished, whoa.

Tried to make these using a minimalist style, reminiscent of classic paperback covers.

002 | Quantum Of Solace.jpg
003 | Skyfall.jpg
004 | Spectre.jpg
005 | No Time To Die.jpg

Wish I could have done more of a background texture on some of them. I will definitely tweak No Time To Die once I see the film... hopefully to find some imagery to play with - and, I'm still not happy with the title structure they use, did my best to incorporate the 007 logo that was lacking since Skyfall.

I'll get the .ia (or png) files into a folder link when I have free time again, for anyone who would like to borrow them for their own Blu-Ray collection.

They look great and very stylish. Would you be able to put some Venom/ Spider-Man eyes on that octopus to see what it looks like? Thanks.

I think I first saw Billie the kid last year at some event and I actually thought she was a boy, then I heard about her again recently when she said something negative about hip hop which she got heat for, ironically her style of singing on the first first verse reminds me of that modern mumble rap rubbish, but it got better as it went on and I quite like the simple structure of the hook while the instrumental aspect is also good.

Truth is I've bought two albums in the last 18 months, one was Bruce Springsteen and the other was Eminem's new album, so I'm no judge of modern music as I've hit that age where bar the odd song I just don't like it much, but as far as Bond songs go I've only really liked 3 since Brosnan took over the role anyway, and one of them isn't the Cornell song people seem to love.

The new spot is cool, Ana is kicking some ass, the plane gizmo looks like fun and the action in general looks exciting and slick.
