Many fine folks have come out of the woodwork to accept accolades for being instrumental in bringing the final installment of the Batman Trilogy to Pittsburgh. There are rumors circulating, however, no one person is responsible. A building is. The ability to explode the Civic Arena and use the footage for a key scene in the movie may have been the key bargaining chip that brought The Dark Knight Rises to Pittsburgh. A series of deals, behind closed doors, between The Pittsburgh Film Office (PFO), Governor Tom Corbett and the Sports and Exhibition Authority of Pittsburgh (SEA) may have sealed the deal and brought win-win situations to all parties involved.

I believe it, it will be incredibly sad to see the Igloo go, but if its gonna go out, it better be in a Goddamn Batman movie![]()
Are any locations actually confirmed though? The arena's been speculated for a while now.
Any guesses as to what the Civic Arena will be in the context of TDKR and why it gets blown to smithereens?
I thought it might kill some of the boredom before filming starts.![]()
Does anyone know what the schedule is? Pittsburgh than UK? Or what?
The new Spider-man film shot a lot of its scenes on LA. It was mostly street level stuff. No need to use the skyline of every city you film at.Let's say that DKR IS indeed filming in NYC too; does Pitts remotely look like NYC so it can seamlessly blend in the two cities?
