I honestly expect the first TV spot to drop in March....gut feeling I guess or just given that blockbusters that are 3 months out have already released a TV spot or two and MOS might follow suit.

Didn't Jack The Giant Slayer's first spot drop in January too?

Not that I don't want it. But the first tv-spot landing in march, I think is just wishful thinking.

I hope either the next trailer or one of the tv spots showcases the flying. We got a great tease of it in the second trailer, and I think for a lot of us Snyder has really nailed it (and it's one of our favorite Superman powers :supes:':hehe: ) but this time it seems to also have finally been done right. For me personally it's one of the things I'm looking most forward to seeing on screen.

Sadly, I don't think we'll be getting that many great flying shots that involves using Cavil and not some CGI double since from the sounds of the Empire Magazine Article, it seems like Snyder had preferred in using CGI doubles for the flying shots as opposed to traditional wire works.

Doesn't mean the close-ups will be CG.

I certainly hope it's not total CG. I want to see real Superman flying in there, Not CGMan. Spider-Man 3 managed to get good looking greenscreen work for the Peter vs New Goblin fight, and that was 6 years ago (and Sony Imageworks, not WETA).

Not to mention everyone - even ROUTH - was disappointed we got so few shots of the real deal flying.

But it may end up looking great. We'll see.

If Cavil hasn't learned to fly for this movie then screw him! :cmad:

Well he is obviously going to fight. The next trailer doesn't matter. The TV Spots matter. I'm sure the next trailer will be an "action" trailer. That is what WB is notorious for doing marketing wise.

I tend to agree. It will be an action trailer. I just wish it was sooner than April. I think Oz would've been a very good movie to attach it to.

I agree. I would like to see something similar to this in the trailer and tv spots..

Most of Metropolis is burning. Sirens are heard all around. news and military Helicopters fill the sky. Tops of several skyscrapers are seen missing, with steel girders junting out here and there. Large amounts of debris litter the streets.
Several cars and semis are seen sticking high up out the side of some buildings, smashed...complete chaos all around.

Civilians are seen running for cover. A few are just standing, pointing up toward the sky.

We see superman and zod hovering over the city. Supe's eyes are glowing red, his expression is anger. Zod just smirks...
They launch at each other at superspeed, cut to black, huge explosion/concussion is heard.

cut to logo, date.

How do we know that this Henry Cavill person isn't actually Day Lewis deep in method.

:ninja:

Very deep. Daniel Day Lewis playing Henry Cavill playing Kal-El playing Clark Kent playing Superman after researching using nothing but Superman comics.

It's like Acting-ception.

The layers just keep on peeling back

Day Lewis was actually living on the remains of Krypton for years to 'become' Kryptonian, and his arrival back on Earth was timed perfectly for the "Henry Cavill" auditions, they coordinated his return to be at the same time as astronauts were returning to Earth from the space station,he very temporarily 'became' an actual astronaut called Sergey dei-loois,and nobody was able to tell that he was in fact an Earthling become Kryptonian, become astronaut, about to become "Henry Cavill"

It is the purest form of Acting-ception ever seen.

I hope the flying isnt all sonic boom throughout the whole movie. I want some cruising in there too lol.

Everyone is a Daniel Day Lewis clone in disguise

I think the next trailer does matter as well as the T.V spots.

I agree. Given the lukewarm reception to Superman Returns, they really can't afford a misstep in the marketing. I still run across people who are surprised to learn this is a reboot and not a sequel.

Imagine the surprise some of those people might have if they went to the movie uninformed : "They blew up Krypton AGAIN?
I thought they already did that in Part One."

"Wait a minute! What happened to his kid?!"

I just had a thought. Daniel Day-Lewis in a Chris Nolan film. My God, the awesome, it's--

Or something like these:

"That's Lois Lane?? She looks more like Lana Lang. Well, at least this Lois doesn't look emaciated."

"What happened to Perry?"

"What happened to Lois' significant other from the last film?"

"Where is Lex Luthor? Wasn't he rescued from the island?"

(By the way, how have you been, Jim?)
Lana2k5 from The Planet, Lana Lang on Eyes Skyward

Well if there's any chance of a new trailer with WB and Legendary Pictures' Jack The Giant Slayer we'll find out in a few days. It looks like some new trailers just passed cert that will be released within the next couple of weeks including WB's The Conjuring, Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2 and a new IMAX 3D trailer for the Jurassic Park rerelease.
