Remember, it's pretty much got the entire Christmas season to itself. There's no competition next weekend. It's really the only family film choice over the holidays.

Dont count out Django Unchained.

idk, I get some stupid families lol. People brought their kids to my theater to see f***ing sinister.

Every time I go and see a rated-R film, there is a least a few 5-10 year olds or at least 1 baby. It is ridiculous.

at my theater I've seen parents just drop their kids off lol. then they get pissed when I refuse to sell their kids tickets because they have to be accompanied by an adult.
on an unrelated note, wasn't there suppose to be a wolverine trailer with hobbit? I didn't get one, I got MoS and Star Trek into darkness (those are the ones I wanted to see) and jack the giant slayer, I can't remember the others we got lol, but wolverine wasn't among them.

The Wolverine trailer rumor was wrong. It was confirmed that it wouldn't be attached.

So not eveey screening has MOS and Pacific Rim and Star Trek trailers? That sux.

My theater showed the trailers for

Man of Steel in 3D boy did that look amazing
Oblivion
After Earth
Pacific Rim
Star Trek the new 2 1/2 minute trailer which was an improvement over the internet one
The Lone Ranger
Django Unchained

Oh, you got all 4 of the ones I wanted. I forgot we also got the Lone Ranger trailer.

I definitely hope my showing has the full Star Trek trailer and the MOS trailer and Oblivion.

Wow, you got a great line up of exciting trailers.

I saw this last night. And man, it was glorious. I'm back in Middle-Earth and I can't wait to go back. I didn't want this movie to end. I wanted it to continue into the next one. There was a moment where I said to myself I could watch all three movies right then.

At the beginning, I was a bit nervous that Peter may have lost a step. But then I realized, this isn't the same world as LOTR and that this is a different one, and once I accepted that and saw it before me, it was so easy to embrace and get caught up in this different world. This film felt like a true adventure. I don't feel that often. Pure escapism. Jackson gets the tone. This can easily exist with the other ones, but is still something that has its own integrity and stands on its shoulders.

I just love how lighter, friendlier and more adventurous this tale is, but it isn't without its danger and high stakes. It ended at a nice place.

Glad you liked it Doctor Jones. I might be seeing this again tonight in 2D. I saw it the first time in IMAX 3D

I saw it in IMAX 3D myself and this is about the only format I want to see it in. I was just in awe at times.
The Battle of Moria flashback
... GOOD CHRIST. :awesome:

Is there an explanation as to why 48fps isn't in IMAX 3D? I figured that would be a shoe in for it. I would totally be up to seeing it in the format if I can.

oh yeah, I also got oblivion and I think Django Unchained, both of which I'm not in jumping out of my skin to see (not saying I don't want to, there are just other movies I'm looking forward to more).

Well, that was just a blatant attempt to stretch one story into three....

...and I loved every minute of it. God, I just want to see the next movie now. It was great.

Saw it at the IMAX, and got the trailers for:

Good Day to Die Hard
Oz
Jack the Giant Killer
Man of Steel
Star Trek

That Star Trek preview was pure joy as well.

I got the same trailers. Did you get the nine minute ST preview or just the trailer?

Because it makes us have to pay to see it again. Which I will. Despite all the griping I read about the 48fps the past few months, everyone I talked to who saw that version has raved about it.

I totally agree. There was a lot of stuff in there that really should have only been in an extended cut, but if Part 2 had started playing right after the credits, I would have HAPPILY stayed.

Even my mom, who has never read the book, said it was obvious the story was being stretched out. But she loved it.

I felt like it was just getting started when it ended. As soon as the credits rolled, the first thing I said was "Oh, I want to see the rest of it now!"

Of course we all want to see the next one. All the really good stuff is in the next one. :D

I really thought they were gonna end it
after the barrels sequence.

I loved
the final line though.

"Looks like the worst is behind us!"

:funny:
