Optimist Prime: Discussion thread for those looking forward to the movie

I just wanted to add that
at the end of the this movie, Megs doesn't die as it way look when he's sent to the bottom of the sea
, as according to his new toy specs, he is indeed indestructable, just like G1 Megatron.

Are you really serious? You think that just because its Peter Jackson or Lucas or Spielberg that there not going to do there best work they can? That is just stupied, there going to do the best work they can so they can use what they've learned later.

Yes i am serious , and i don't think it's that stupid :whatever:
Of course they will deliver proper work because that they have a reputation to live up. But for animators really making 20 hours days to deliver VFX is something that i just don't see happening with all movies.
To have that much faith and trust in a director isn't that something that all animators have.

Look at the ROTK making of. The amount of work that the guys at WETA did in orderto deliver those VFX is something that they would only do for Peter. If it were some other director they just wouldn't push themslves that hard. IMO i would say that right now , the only director aside from Pete Jackson , who can expect that much dedication from the WETA crew is James Cameron.

Same with ILM.

As a Transformers fan since the 80s, I had my doubts about the movie, but as more and more trailers are released I can't be more psyched about it. I didn't think Bay was the best choice, but he seems to embrace the concept of giant robots and is trying to make it as spectacular and sensational as possible. I think the movie will be awesome and it will shut many naysayers up when it is released.

WHAT??????

Is this really true?

If so, I'm glad, :)

If Megatron doesn't die, then he will of course be in the sequel.

I'm no fanboy or transformers afishin'auto but I'm eager with anticipation for this motion picture :)

Exactly dude. As I said before, I don't know much about Transformers- but I seriously can't wait for the film. I'm really hyped, read the script, getting the book and the merch.

I think guys like you and me will probably be one of the ones to really like the film the most- because, personally I don't know what G1 is. So, I don't have those comparisons to make while watching it. I'm just along for the ride.

yea true...

ILM are like the slaves that built the pyramids... except in this case its giant robots that transform into cars and blow **** up.

if they surpass what they did with davy jones... then ILM MUST get an oscar!

I agree. I never once saw this as a G1 film, in fact the film is probably inspired by a lot of different Transformers mythos.

Look at what WETA did for Chronicles of Narnia, and that wasn't a Peter Jackson film. And of course they are going to spend hours on the LOTR. Prior to those three films, WETA was unknown in the VFX community. ILM had the corner on the market until LOTR came out.

Anyway, dosn't really matter anyway. :yay:

It will be interesting what WETA do with Neon Genesis Evangelion, this transformers movie could be the bench mark for some cool robot movies, after seeing Starscream in action I can only pray they make a Robotech/Macross movie.

Narnia is overated... the fx were ok at best. Only the lion looked great...even though the voice clearly didnt go with the lion.
the movie itself is another story... the movie stenches of 'meh' like Aeon Flux.

Man, a (serious... not Bay-Dumb) Robotech movie would be soooo awesome. Before we see that though, we're likely to see a Gachaman (G-Force/Battle of the Planets) movie. I heard some time ago Jerry Brukheimer had that in pre-pre-production.

If TF is successful, we're likely to see a bunch of Japanese "Mech" inspired movies in the next few years. Something's gotta replace the dying-out comic book movies.

Gachaman is the director of the TMNT's next project. it will be all CG like TMNT.

Is this confirmed? That's kinda disappointing. I think G-Force would have made a cool a live-action movie... in the hands of the right filmmaker.

As would definately Robotech. But, Robotech definately needs a serious director that will treat it like Peter Jackson treated LOTR. Those guys are kinda hard to find.

I require a Gundam film, directed and written by Peter Jackson.

Everything I've predicted prettymuch came true. Darn I'm good.

He's going to do HALO. Gosh knows when.

Last word out of Hollywood land was that nobody could come to terms on it...it was going to cost way to much money to make. dosn't mean it won't be made, just not in the near future I fear.

Jablonsky also did the score for the game, so I'm betting the theme is dead on to what he has planned for the movie. If so- WOW!!! I love this theme, it's alot more epic than anything Elfman did for Spider-Man, in my opinion.

If you also loved his 'The Island' music, you're going to faint from excitement after hearing this:

I need a score CD!!!
