Person Of Interest - Part 2

Fusco's the one that would make the most sense, ignoring if something were to happen to a cast member in real life that would cause them to have to leave, he's the most disconnected from the plots.

Fusco's the one that would make the most sense, ignoring if something were to happen to a cast member in real life that would cause them to have to leave, he's the most disconnected from the plots.

Respectfully disagree for a few reasons:

1) Fusco is comedy relief, it really wasnt until last season that we really saw some depth in him. Still , he provides more comic relief than anyone else. It would seem a bit
odd to kill him off. His character serves as a nice balance to the others, and without him the team would seem a bit too...not sure what the right word is, but theyve had him in the mix from day one, and kept him there for a reason.

on a related note
2)Fusco represents the 'everyman' on the show. He's not stupid or incompetent but is by no means exceptional like Reese, Shaw,Finch , Root - and to some degree Carter.
In many ways he's the kind of ordinary person that the others are fighting to protect. It would seem strange to kill him off, and leave the others standing -
Batman needs Gordon and Alfred - because they keep him grounded,
in the same way Fusco keeps Reese and Finch connected with the
ordinary person's pov.

3) his redemption arc. Fusco is no longer a sinner, but he still aint no saint. Still, while he's done some bad stuff, its really nothing compared to Reese (who's a mass murderer -as is Root) or Finch who's played God, the ultimate case of the road to hell being paved with good intentions.
As such, Fusco 's redemption doesnt require him to die -for Reese, maybe it will.

4)from a practical standpoint, they've already lost one NYPD contact, it would be a
bit much to lose both.

Now this is all just IMO if people disagree thats cool..lets talk about it.j

I agree with Batmannerism, killing Fusco would be a bad idea for the reasons he listed.

Nitpick : Samaritan/Greer tasked Martinator to kill team Machine, Shaw received three bullets, Martine had her at point blank but for some reason Shaw is still alive ( from what I read in previous posts ).

IMAGE & SCOOP: Person of Interest 4×12 “Control-Alt-Delete

Reeling from the events of last week’s “If-Then-Else” which saw Team Machine losing a valued member in the form of Shaw (is she dead? Isn’t she dead?), the episode picks up a different but familiar thread as we tune into Control’s (Camryn Manheim) day to day existence as an unwitting pawn of Samaritan as continues to handle ‘relevant’ numbers for the government.

We’ve seen this episode a little earlier than most, thanks to our friends at CBS, and can share the following tidbits (plus a gallery, in case you missed it) on what to expect:
1. Look out for a clever alteration to the opening credit sequence. “You are being watched!”

2. Expect Reese, Root and Finch to be ruthless in their determination to uncover Shaw’s current location.

3. One of the gang is convinced Shaw is dead, but is reluctant to tell the others.

4. Expect to see a ‘what goes around comes around’ torture scene. (You can probably guess this one by looking at the images below.)

5. It’s just another day at the office for Control who kicks off her morning by eliminating a terrorist threat on American soil. But are these men as guilty as they appear? The truth is hard to come by, and Control will surprise you.

6. The creepy kid voicing Samaritan is back, and he wants a word with POTUS!

7. Reese with a rocket launcher. That is all.

8. … and one more for good luck. The team will stumble across an unlikely ally. … and now that really is all.

:wow::woot:

I think I might be in the minority when I say I find them using a kid as the voice of Samaritan is annoying now. I don't know what it is about children actors, but they annoy the piss out me when they speak so much.

Also, it just seems like this season has been nothing but depressing as all the show has them doing is beating Team Machine down. It feels like for every seeming win, they get knocked 2-3 pegs down, which creates this disheartening feeling that nothing good will ever happen again for the team. It'll be great when the writers and producers finally move this show back from the shadows.

Damn that episode was intense as hell (esp the first 10 min of it),The scenes with Harold and Control were fantastic, esp Harold calling her nothing more than a janitor, Also its good to see psycho Root again.

Control:''speaking of Janitors here comes a few now''
Harold:'' You say that like we werent expecting them''

:D

What did you expect after that season finale last year? Sunshine and rainbows? lol j/k Losing builds character and makes the wins that much sweeter. I appreciate that the stakes are often high for the heroes. Makes for much interesting storytelling. The showrunners and writers clearly know their own show better than we ever will so I'm just going to enjoy the ride. :)

Brother Mouzone from The Wire as one of Samaritan's operatives! :awesome:

Agreed. My wife is struggling to watch POI because the team are insuch
dire straits. As for myself. I'm fine with it. Seeing Harold so absolutely resigned and hopeless in episode one was tough, but within a few episodes he regains his faith and focus. maybe this season will end with a triumph, because one is coming.....regardless I'm hanging in to find out.

Personally, I would like to see an episode focus on John, as I feel he's been a bit overlooked.
cheers.

[BLACKOUT]Oh, didn't someone say that Sarah Shahi was on set for filming of episode 15 or so? Wonder if that was just a cover for the cliffhanger or if she'll be back by then.[/BLACKOUT]

I got chills when Finch said "you foolish woman" to Control. :awesome: Here's to hoping she becomes an ally soon. At least she found something to suspect on.

Acker is SO GOOD in that last scene of her's in the car. Asdfghjkl :hrt:

She was absolutely amazing in that scene, she didn't say much but her face told the whole story,Everyone bought their A game in this episode but I thought Amy knocked it out of the park.

Yessssssss. I love it when Emerson channels a bit of Ben Linus and Finch could be the scariest guy in the room.

A 3 week wait is ridiculous. And then March Madness will hit. I hate network TV. GAH

Weird episode, I didn't expect to spend half of it without the team, I also expected the 3rd part of something advertised as a trilogy to have the resolution regarding Shaw, but it seems this trilogy has a 4th part lol.

Gotta say I agree with Webfoot on the kid, it was ok once but even for this show him walking in and out of the White House while the chief guy just stands their like a goof is pretty silly.

The interrogation scene with Control was really good though, especially her exchanges with Root and Finch.

I wonder if that assassin guy from the 911 operator-ish episode will be back? That's another one that seems to be leading to an arc.

Yeah! I've waited for Wesley to return because he had history with John. Wonder what happened with that.

I'd like to see these two enemies return and mix things up a bit from the A.I. warfare.

Amy Acker has took her career so far beyond where I think anyone thought she could go with her work as Root, she is the best actor on the show IMO. *Ducks the Emerson fanboys* :oldrazz:

Yeah the kid was good for one episode, imo I was kinda surprised the machine didn't use Claire Mahoney as its avatar instead

After Reese's encounter with Grice, it feels like they're building to having him and/or Brooks go AWOL from the government and possibly work with Team Machine. You can also tell from Reese's interactions tonight, he's in more control of his emotions, unlike when Carter got killed and he went on his rampage. Seeing Pyscho Root return for a bit and then regaining her focus once Harold tells her to stop shows how much she's grown.

As for the next episode, sucks that it'll be 3 weeks until it airs but when it does, we're going to be getting 4 new episodes in a row.

The show's evolution from what it was is part of what makes it so great to watch. You look at some shows after several seasons and it's the same as it was in the first season. As if nothing significant happened. Not the case with this show.

They're ballsy, and they take risks.

One the most amazing things to me is that since season one, they have a 20 + episode run, and it never felt to me like it's gotten stale. On a 20+ episode run, on a channel like CBS...I would honestly expect a few horrible episodes, a series of bad episodes where they played it safe or did something out of character to try and shake things up, or beat a dead horse by going to the well one too many times.

And, I've never gotten that feeling from any of the seasons so far. It's subversive, and with good reason. I like with where they're taking things, and how they balance the big picture themes with the small picture themes...going from a global crisis, to a national crisis, to a city crisis.

Had the show gone that direction (case of the week), I would have dropped it. I have no interest in shows like CSI where it's typically done in 44 minutes with little carrying over and characters not developing much. The fact this show has cut down on one off episodes (and even then typically has something in them that's important later) is an asset.

Though, just something I remembered while talking about one offs with important things, it's odd how Alistair Wesley from the season 2 episode "Critical" (the one with the surgeon being forced to kill her patient) just dropped off the face of the earth after an ending that seemed to set him up as a recurring antagonist. I've been working my way through the season 3 blu-ray that I got for Christmas and I hope this doesn't happen with the guy from the end of "Last Call" as well.

Thank you! :woot:

A year or two ago, one of the lead writers for the series mentioned it at New York Comic Con after a fan question. He mentioned that it was clear that the new wave in approaching storytelling in tv series' was for it to be serialized, and not the self contained, case of the week approach. I think he mentioned that they wanted to try and go with the serialized approach while still having cases.

The 'Trilogy' approach we just saw them pull off had me thinking about this in a comic book series run way. Maybe 'Trilogy' was them signaling it. But, a comic book series run by a creative team can shift gears after a story arc, coming back to stuff covered before.

Which, I think can be a clever approach to tackling a 22 or 23 episode run, with as many moving parts as they have on POI.

Hmm. Whatever did happen to Wesley...that seemed like a villain with promise.

By the way, I agree. Your avvy is awesome.

Tru dat, about Emerson's performance (hard to believe he was Ben Linus, the man is brilliant) AND about the wait, gahhhh !!!!
