Revenge of the *Official* Relationship Advice Thread

All I have to say is that if you don't like reading my posts about what's on my mind, then don't respond to them at all. Basically I think what you guys have to say is pretty rubbish. I post roughly the same things at a Monster Hunter Wiki message board and they're not as subversively hostile as you guys. I don't apologize for not thinking just like the masses. And if you can't handle my honesty then tough noogies to you all.
Then why do you insist on spending so much time writing such long posts here if you know you're not going to like what we say? :funny: Surely you want to get something out of all that.

The Monster Hunter Wiki board being nice to you is very likely just the culture there, just as we are pretty honest in our culture. But at least we try to joke while we do it. Over at NolanFans they're so "honest" they will outright call you a moron if they don't agree with you. I've stopped going there. :o

And honestly, 99% of the people I know, even in Los Angeles, are looking for exactly the same things you are. And are just as "unconventional" as you. We're all looking for the same things! We just need to find a partner who's compatible with us, but even though it took me years to find my bf, I'm well aware I could have been pretty happy with any number of guys I could have met over the years. It isn't really THAT hard to find someone who's well-paid, respects an intelligent woman, and prizes experience over materialism. Even in Los Angeles, those are pretty basic requirements. :funny: It's just a matter of finding the right balance of such things in a partner.

Wow, miss a little ... miss a lot.

I'm gone all weekend and I miss out on the fun. Pretty interesting last couple of pages.

3. Illicit affairs with married men, even if they've separated from their wives. Legal separation to me is just cheating in my book. It's like the purgatory of Marital status in that you aren't completely married yet you aren't completely divorced. And guys that are married, no matter how handsome they are, there's just absolutely no chance of a relationship at all. I want my relationships to actually end up somewhere if they totally click. I don't like feeling like I'm a sportcar still in neutral spinning my wheels in the dirt not going anywhere, metaphorically speaking.

I really think this is the biggest hinderence in your dating life. From your posts it sounds like you were the other woman at some point, hearing time and time again from someone he was going to leave his wife for you and it never happening. In some ways your posts make it seem like you still aren't over him and hoping he'll come back. It's something you really need to let go of.

Also, you talk a lot about what someone needs to bring to the table, but not what you're bringing. A relationship is a partnership, I know in my relationship both me and my girlfriend have learned from each other and really benefitted from it. She sparked in me the determination to get out of a dead end job I wasn't happy with and go somewhere better, I sparked in her a determination to be more physically active, she never thought of running a marathon, but is determined to run one soon. Those are just two examples off the top of my head, it's also not one forcing change on the other, just realized it's something we wanted to do and having someone support that decision.

Yes. What I bolded = truth.

From her posts, that's exactly why I couldn't date a girl like Jin, it seems like she's all about what her potential man "should" be doing for her with no concern over what she should be doing for her man as well.

A relationship is a 2 way street, and I absolutely can't stand women who are only with a guy because of -what- he can do for her, and not for the person he is.

I have zero problem taking care of my woman, and doing those things for her, but like you said, it has to be a partnership, not just me "taking care of her" to make her life easier.

But anyways, there's way too much drama in this thread right now.

So okay, there's this girl I like. I totally like her, and she should totally like me, because I'm such a nice guy.

I've never tried to make a move on her. Because I respect her so much. I want to show that I respect her. So I haven't made a move on her, or asked her out. So why doesn't she like me?????

(not serious, just trying to break up the drama)

I personally find the drama in here pretty entertaining, but maybe that's just me :woot:

It's not real relationship drama until someone loses a penis.

Basically the question in my mind is what do you consider suitable grounds for compromise?

I've compromised many times and broken my own rules when it comes to dating. However I stay away from drug addicts , promiscuous girls , twilight fans ,and people that generally don't take care of themselves.

In my experience, promiscuous girls and Twilight fans are one in the same, and a good time in bed.

Im curious...When was the last time you got laid? When was your last relationship? When was your last date?

I may regret this question but it's really late and I'm curious...what does it mean when a girl is "good in bed?" I thought it was all about communication and stuff like that. :funny:

If you're in a relationship or actually care about the girl, sure. It changes from person to person what determines whether or not a girl is "good in bed".

I believe my girlfriend is the best sexual partner I've been with. But that's not to say that she's the most adventurous or anything... We're just compatible.

But as far as what I meant by "good in bed", I just meant the girl would be down to try just about anything you ask of her.

Good in bed means kinky. It means you're into the sex as opposed to just going through the motions, that you try different positions and that you take a measure of control in bed and let the man know what turns you on by giving sensory signals. Screaming, hair pulling, biting, heavy breathing, talking dirty can all be seen as bonuses depending on your personal preference.

Well, you asked...

JJJ speaks the truth. My X wife was one of those "goes through the motions" type. Made for a fairly unfulfilling sex life. And every time I suggested something outside of her comfort zone, I payed for it for weeks...

Well maybe bringing a girl home as an anniversary gift wasn't well thought out.

:lmao:

Yeah, I've been pretty open to trying things, but once we've tried them and know what works (and what MOST DEFINITELY DOES NOT :o ) I guess that's when it gets boring? :funny: Not necessarily the person's fault, but then again there is the whole "being really uptight to begin with" part. So maybe there's some kind of scale of adventurousness.

Well when she says she bisexual, who else are you supposed to react? :o

Seriously, she would complain about any positions outside of missionary. She thought any position where I couldn't see her face meant I was thinking about someone else, or that I was "in the closet". Fun times.

Really? Did you cross boy-band fans off your list in the late '90s? Twilight is just the "catnip" for girls these days, it's a fad, like New Kids on The Block, the boy band craze, Spice Girls, Madonna, it's just this time instead of music, it's book and movies. It's something they know isn't really good, but is marketed to them so well they can't help but like it for awhile. Soon the fad will fade away and girls will laugh at how stupid it was, like when they thought neon clothing was a great fashion decision.
