Saw the news from a few days ago of michael keaton nabbing the role laurie passed on. Another solid actor on the project. Can't wait to see what he brings to the role and be fun to see him as badass villain.

Yep. I'm not sold on this reboot but Keaton makes it a must see now.

I love Laurie so much, but Keaton getting cast is something else. They better not cast him for a tame soft-spoken CEO or anything. The role and Padilha better let him loose.

Agreed. Keaton angry and let loose is a sight to behold.

Whatever the previous actor(s) did, I figure Keaton will go for the more subdued menace than the wild villainy. He hasn't done his manic livewire thing in quite a while.

Michaael Keaton as Villain Is very Intresting.

However I am concerned they will be spending too much time on creating Robocop and training rather than show Robocop doing his stuff.And all the casting has been for corporate villains.Are they going to have their version of Clarence and his goons In this?

Shooting begins Saturday, September 15 and will wrap mid January.

Sounds like script isn't to bad. I do hope film turns out goodd. One reason I don't follow critics, I rather judge film on my own.

It isn't bad at all. McWeeny broke down into hyperbole because he came armed and ready to tear this movie apart since it was announced.

He made it seem as if it were the TMNT script, now there's an awful damn movie in the making if it isn't changed. I came into the TMNT reboot positive by the way but that script was beyond awful and was literally a carbon copy of the Transformers mold.

Padilha's Robocop actually tries doing some really interesting things and I love the amount of commentary it has on current events. Especially the advancements in modern warfare and particularly drones.
