Ah, the old "My movie is PG-13 because The Dark Knight is the most violent movie ever made" excuse, used by such great directors like McG and John Moore.
I'm fine with them doing a PG-13 RoboCop, if that's the movie they want to make, but own up to it, I lose any respect for a director who has to hide behind The Dark Knight. Hell, the Total Recall remake may have been a dud, but at least they justified it by saying "we're making the film we want to make".

I want to hear Kinnaman's voice as Robo. Weller has such a distinctive voice without any enhancements and what they did in the original is just so great.

The guy's arm is blown off in full grpahic detail.
Not only dead ( even thohgh i was a puppet) , the showed his getting shot in the head.
If anything , the scene alone with ED-209 malfunctioning and shooting the Omnicorp employee dead would still make Robocop qualify for a R rating today.

Any clips of the actual movie because everything I have heard about this movie has not sold me on it at all. Just seems irrelevant as a film, if you can't do it right Why bother at all.

I don't get why people are so automatically negative towards this. The premise/story has good reimagining potential and it has a great director with a great cast.
Not saying it for sure will be great either, but I still think it deserves more of a chance before being shot down. Looking forward to a first trailer.

Every single movie website has flocks of people hating on this anytime they post something related to the film I can understand when people see footage and hate on something but these people haven't even seen a teaser it's ridiculous.

I've become so jaded about all this reboot nonsense that I just simply don't care anymore. That doesn't mean I'm actively hating on them before I watch them, especially since I was hating on Predators and then when I saw it, dug the hell out of it.

My dislike of the new suit aside, I was looking forward to this. But BOY did they go out of their way to make me not give a s**t. Keaton and Jackson tried hard to sell the movie at the panel and the press rounds, but it just sounds absolutely stupid at this point. It's change for the sake of change. When they said RoboCop moves around with the fluidity of the droids in I Robot, I zoned out.

I don't have a problem with remakes. Sometimes they add something that was missing the first time, and may actually improve the product.
My problem with this Robocop, however, is that they're taking the name but they're changing everything that made Robocop...well, Robocop, if you know what I mean.
I'll reserve a proper judgement until I see this, of course, but up to this point, I don't care. They're changing too many stuff, they're slowly drifting away and away from what made Robocop so cool back then. Is not about the suit anymore, but there's something 'iconic' and 'classic' about the look, the way he talks, the way he moves. Just like, let's say, Superman. You can't mess with the look too much.

I saw the comic-con footage. Like many others, it didn't remove my doubts, but it did make me more hopeful. Spoilers below quite obviously.
One fun moment was when some characters were cycling through various potential Robocop designs on a screen. One of them looked to be the classic 80s Robocop. Of course they eventually settled on the black.
A Robocop with silver was shown in some footage. Looked like the same suit as the black, just with silver paint/metal. I really hope he starts in the black and finishes in the silver. The silver just looks a lot better. The black all blends together, but with the silver you can see all of the little bits and details. Suddenly the suit looks really interesting.
Saw his gun pop out of his leg. Was happy to see that return.
Didn't like his movements as much as Peter's. Also found his line delivery to be not as good. His movements seemed more normal human, though there was a bit of stiffness at times. He delivered the classic line much more casually than Peter did. More like "Dead'r alive, yer coming with me" instead of the very well pronounced, robotic way that Weller spoke as Robocop. Maybe more footage will convince me.
I did enjoy that the actor spoke of trying to perfect his jaw-acting.
I really enjoy the updated social commentary. Sam Jackson himself is a bit too cheesy for my liking in his scenes, but the commentary itself is very relevant and just seems perfect for a new Robocop. It really feels relevant.
Their in-story reasoning for the organic hand is cool, too. It's basically just an excuse to circumvent the law that only a human can pull a trigger on home soil. That's clever, and it's a fun reference to the throwaway line in the original about keeping/losing the arm.
ED-209 looks totally sweet.
The motorcycle feels a little over the top to me but it isn't a major concern.
Murphy gets really messed up. They show him before rebuilding him. He looks really damaged and missing a few limbs.
I'm disappointed in the new unmasked robo-head. The old one really looked like skin being stretched over a robotic frame. The new one looks like a guy in a funny helmet.

kinnaman did say he's trying to avoid weller's movement style, and go for more of a superhuman movement.
