RoboCop Reboot - Part 4

Yep, I read about 85% of it. NOT a lot of violence at all. said to be the weakest part, so expect a PG-13 for sure. Not that we didn't already know that.

Otherwise sounds PRETTY GOOD! Im surprised by how much I like the family stuff, and the climax seems pretty intense, but low key, which is cool! some factors are really disappointing though that I was hoping for as a Robo fan, oh well!

for anyone who does read, I love how [BLACKOUT]Robo will get shot to hell near the end and pieces of his armor will be falling off before he goes after the main villain, very 87![/BLACKOUT] Very cool!

What you describe in the blackout text sounds great, a lot like the scene in the 87 movie were the cops star firing on him.

the reviewer gives the whole plot away, so i just totally stopped reading his post when it got to the spoilers section.

but i do like this quote from his review:
"The movie is not a lazy half hearted attempt at making a RoboCop film. Director José Padilha and the team of writers tried and it paid off. The movie is not going to replace that nostalgic feeling you have for the first film. So don’t even ask it to do that. This iteration is similar but does its own thing and does it well. The movie is a satisfying take on RoboCop. Even if it lacks the utter insanity of the original and instead appeals to the human heart."

^ sounds good man!

Are we sure it's not just a marketing trick or something?
Dont get me wrong, I would LOVE this movie to be good, it's just a bit strange they have an early advanced screening and then a whole review/transcript with such positive reaction.
I hope it's legit

it's not overwhelmingly positive, the review does mention what parts they thought were weak. (i gave in and kinda skimmed over some parts haha)

who knows though? could be a plant? but seems legit.

I really hope this is legit, but yeah it could also be fake too. I guess its because we have 4 months and 26 days remaining (148 days), and thus stuff like these vary between fact or fiction, y'know?

The black and red just make him look too much like a bad guy IMO.

Did no one say "Eh. Ummm... Is it just me or does the silver one look better? Because the black suit doesn't look good... at all."

No? Ok.

As a huge fan of the original Robocop, I think this looks decent. Obviously it won't have the same degree of satire and gore, but I think it'll still work well enough.

i feel like the black suit is growing on me. i think it looks cool. i think they want it to look sinister on purpose.
but i still prefer the silver one.

The black does look very plasticy in that poster. I guess that's the look we'll end up with in the end? I Was hoping maybe there will be a few more touch ups from the trailer, so it'll look a little more metallic.

in the movie it will look like it looks in the trailer. the poster is pure photoshop magic. and i disagree that it doesnt look plasticy. :)

and what is up with the left hand. why doest it look like a glove?Batman had a more robotic looking hand in the last two movies that this. what were they thinking? i see that the bending plastic fabric material is meant to look like that. because the neck has 3 folds.

cool poster. looks like the marketing is starting to ramp up for this.

I just checked out the trailer. I'm not in love, but I it looks like a fun ride, at the very least. And I'm totally here for this supporting cast.

Really awesome poster. That's goin up on the wall

The poster looks very good; I always thought the silver version of the suit is more like a transitional piece for us, as we go from the old to the new, and it comes off more like familiar yet different/different yet familiar, thus making us settle into the new one. It seems to be working because the poster is showing the new suit, and I'm seeing Robocop (or new Robocop), even though I'm really seeing Robocop when he is in the silver version. But still, he looks good, regardless...

Pretty much the batsuit.

Just skimmed through that review...

It seemes as though there are now a few new deviations in character arcs from the first draft of the script to the final film. Sellars remains the (mastermind) villain, however, Norton now redeems himself and comes out a good guy, and the Chief of Police turns out to be corrupt.

Seriously. It seems they did a good enough job with the silver suit. Lots of harder robotic details on that one. But the black? Obviously all rubber. Why did they choose this?

They easily could have just colored the silver suit black and given it the helmet of the black costume and it would have looked better than the rubber suit.

It may be because they constantly modify and make him less human/more intimidating as the movie progresses.

yeah but in the early models his torso actually looks robotic. it's the final version where he looks like man in suit.

I doubt we have seen all the suit versions in the film.

I love the poster screams badass to me, my excitment level for this movie has just increased once more.
