Cool stuff!

Interesting. Thats the black suit helmet with the silver suit body, but it is also black (unfinished?).

Weird. Just a test maybe.

Why oh why did I look at the YouTube comments? I used to think IMDB was bad but holy **** It's like the last bastion of the truly unimaginative.
I thought it was well and widely known to never, ever read the comments of any YouTube video. Ever. Not one of them is safe from the trolls.

Everything I have seen and read makes me excited about this movie. All the people nitpicking about every little thing already are the ones who claim they are fans if the original and can't accept the we aren't in the 80's anymore. They are also the people going into the movie wanting to hate it, so naturally they probably will go see the movie and sit there the entire time looking for things to complain about. But if this movie was being written and directed by Chris Nolan for example, nobody on this site would be griping about it.

Agreed. and i love nolan's films.
but padilha isn't as well known except for the fans who seen his brazilian films, so he does not get a free pass. =/
i really like reading interviews with him, dude knows his stuff.
and from all the videos and interviews that have been released so far, this new robocop looks to at least make a good companion piece to the original one.

right. at least at shh forums here, most people try to come with rational arguments on why they don't like something about the film.
lot of youtube comments sound like they just gave a bunch of kindergarteners a megaphone. lol!

The director and cast are doing the press conference right now. There's some live tweeting as well.

IGN, IMDB and YouTube = The Troll Trio

also need to add AICN and their talkbackers on this list too. they are whining about EVERYTHING about this movie and many other movies in general.
quick, someone give them some cheese with that.

i like reading their articles when they talk about classic films or dvd releases, but lot of their movie reporting and comments can be petty as hell so that's a turn-off.

Don't forget to add the geniuses over at Badass Digest to the list. What a bunch of a**holes.

is that the devin faraci guy's site?
i think i read one article from him once and i said NOPE, not reading anything they write here ever again. haha

Yeah, that's him. He just your average internet troll with a larger audience.

eh...after all the clips I think it turned into a Rental for me. I just don't like the way Robocop moves. I know he's more advanced than the original Robocop film. But I actually like a bit of a robotic movement to the body...the part where he is shooting all the drones just looks like a guy in a suit moving around.

Did you even hear his robot mechanisms when he was on his bike. he moved like a robot there. Sorry but these constant nitpicks are a joke. He is half man half machine aka cyborg, Funny how this **** does'nt apply to the terminator films.

I can understand why people want him to move like a robot, but as others have already said, if he moved as slow as he did in the original movie, it would seem kind of silly. All bad guys would have to do to get away from him is... run. That's it. Of course, he could shoot them down, but if they duck around a corner and took off, Robo would pretty much be worthless.

its subjective, some people don't think he moves robotic enough or just think the suit is ugly. and that's their opinion and that's fine.

but he does have a few robotic ticks, as you can see from these short clips. and kinnaman has stated in interviews he added a few small subtle bits of the peter weller performance in some of his movements, to pay homage to the original.
it makes sense that a robot or cyborg would move very close to human-like in the future.
sony has already made robots who walk and dance almost like humans do.

my friend made the argument that just look we've already made cars that are fast as hell, so we'll be able to make robots with superspeed in the future. lol.

What looks silly is how he moves in this movie.
I think he moves like a futuristic built robot would move, do you think they would build them and spend millions of dollars and want them to be slow moving machines?

That really makes absolutely no sense.

Slower! He has to move much slower! Like a snail! A snail with legs! A snail with armored robot legs! A black robot death snail! Make it happen, Gary Oldman!

I swear, someday I'm going to wake up and an army of those WildCat things are going to be slaughtering everyone in the world.

He moves at speeds I see modern robots move at and with a few of their ticks. So I am personally happy. So far.
