So, someone posted on neogaf that the title will be "Splinter Cell: Blacklist". And that, Sam will be back in his Third Echelon gear and goggles, with no grey hair.

Personally, I'm expecting it to ATLEAST be announced at this E3. But, Blacklist doesn't really sound like a standout name. Retribution, which I think was the previously rumored title, sounded better to me.

And Sam with no grey hair sounds like b.s. to me. He's been sporting that look since the first game.

No Michael Ironside for Blacklist. Tears. What are they thinking?

Hopefully it's untrue. I want actual confirmation before I set fire to the building.

But, if Ironside is out...then I think I am too. Ironside IS Sam Fisher.

Game looks f'n awesome,Yeah I'll miss Ironside But I was never that attached to the voice and same for Hitman,I ain't stopping from playing the games cause the voice actors are gone,Pfft f**k that!!!!!

I'm VERY attached to the voice.

Ultimately, I think it's what gave him character. I feel as strongly about as Hayter as Snake, DiMaggio as Marcus Fenix.

Honestly, I'm straight up confused by the video that I just posted.

The development process of Blacklist requires an actor to not only provide voice work, but act the role out through motion capture as well. They're going for realism and believability, so they wanted the voice to match the movements.

Eh. At least they have Ironside's "blessing" unlike the whole situation with leaving David Bateson/47 in the dark. So unprofessional.

So bummed. It won't be the same Sam Fisher. No matter what they do.

WHAT!?!?!?!?!?!? No Ironside? NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

I only watched a bit of that video shown at the presser as i just got in from vacation and am about to head out to the beach, but its true? Ironside isn't coming back? Like WTF man. First David Bateson, now Ironside? Damn that blows. I guess thats what happens though as these franchises keep growing. I mean look at the Bond films. So many takes on that character(some great, some not so much). I guess thats how i gotta look at this. Sam Fisher IS the new James Bond which means there will be multiple actors to portray the role. Hopefully ill like the new guy the way i enjoyed Craigs take on Bond(after being a Connery and Brosnan fan)

No it won't be the same But it don't mean it'll automatically be bad and it can some how be better in some ways,Same with Hitman!!

No it doesnt mean it'll automatically be bad, but it will be EXTREMELY difficult to get used to the new voices, especially in the cases you mentioned due to how iconic those voices became.

If they were going to pull this BS though there's definitely a better way to go about it... since Sam is old, reunited with his daughter and in charge I would accept Fisher becoming the new Lambert. That way we get to keep Ironside and we get a new character running field ops. Ugh. So goddamn stupid.

I'm going to miss Ironside :(

The new guy sounds likes he's trying to be him.

Yeah, sounds like he's trying...and failing. Like, a weird imitation.

I mean, it'd probably work if he were playing a 20-something old Sam, but this is Sam POST-Conviction. I mean, hell he's apparently now the on field general and head of Fourth Echelon.

It's weird if Ironside doesn't comeback. They would have been better off going with one of the concepts we'd heard about back after Chaos Theory, and have Sam serve as a mentor to a new rookie Splinter Cell. Have Sam become the voice in our head, having him become like Lambert.

Or Bruce in Batman Beyond.

Maybe he himself didn't want to come back? He did what? 7 Splinter Cell..

"So help me you come at me with another script I'll rip your damn head off! "

"OK Mike, no problem! "

Haha, weird that he still looks so young.

I find it hard to believe.

He seems just as invested in Sam Fisher as anyone else at Ubisoft. I think he's been known to have a lot of say in Sam's characteristics, making it his own.

Kinda like how Nolan North brings alot of himself to the table with Drake.

I dunno. I'm not digging the change. And, I'm not finding the reason believable, either. I get that they want to have realistic dialogue as Sam's doing his thing and bring the heat to the scenes. But, seems excessive if that requires you to toss out the number one consistent thing from you're series. You get Ironside into a studio and record the lines, toss the situational awareness at him with video and whatnot...and it'd work.

See, most of that stuff looks really cool for a Michael Bay movie, but that's not Splinter Cell. It looks fun, sure, but it's like Conviction amped up on Four Loko.

Just because he's not putting people in lockers doesn't mean its not Splinter Cell. Just about everything he does in that trailer is stealth related until the end. It's a shame about Michael Ironside but I'm willing to give this guy a shot and I hope he does well because this game looks awesome. Spys vs Mercs alone makes it worth the money

Agreed on the multiplayer, and the co-op, too. But I prefer a more stealth approach to Sam's missions. Still looks cool.

*shrug*

So then do that. IGN stated the game is more open then previous titles in how you want to tackle your objective.

As for Ironside not returning, that really sucks, but i keep thinking back to the first time i saw an image of Daniel Craig as Bond and the first words out of my mouth were "Thats NOT James Bond, i hate him". I now consider Craig to be head and shoulder ahead of everyone else to put on the tuxedo.

Obviously id prefer Fisher, but, as with Hitman, I'm not passing on one of my fav franchises because I'm disappointed theres a new actor playing the character.

hmmm I don't think it was stated that this was only for the ps next gen console or what ever yet. well when they announce the consoles, I'm sure this will be moved. sorry to hear ironside won't be voicing sam any more.

Ima miss Ironside. He, to me, was Sam Fisher unconditionally. It's like trying to imagine a Bale-less Batman (which is impossible for me right now).

Judging from the new voice and Sam's appearance, Blacklist should be a prequel. Sam Fisher is not a 30 year old. It doesn't make sense.

The gameplay looked amazing though.
