Splinter Cell: Blacklist

Seeing that grim's give the orders to sam and others. That's not likely this is a prequel. and their just going with the fast past of the last game and moving it further from where they left off.

Judging from the new voice and Sam's appearance, Blacklist should be a prequel. Sam Fisher is not a 30 year old. It doesn't make sense.

Iv used this comparison a lot but James Bond has been around since the 60's and he still looks like a man in his 40's. Maybe that's kind of the route they are taking. I agree tho, he deff looks and sounds younger. Guess they're saying f**k continuity

Maybe "Sam Fisher" like "James Bond" is just a code name?

;)

I don't go with the James Bond code name thing, btw.

I also just realized how spot on i was with the premise of this game. Or at least in what i wanted it to be. I wanted some kind of massive terrorist problem that forced the govt to call Sam Fisher back in but at the same time would be giving him full control over his missions. As bummed as i am about Ironside not coming back, I'm loving the premise of this game.

I kinda feel disappointed because I never got a chance to play Conviction since it was never released for the Ps3, so I never followed the story after Double Agent, so I'm completely lost as to where the story is going. But I really like this new direction and hope they don't keep it as another exclusive.

Basically 3rd Echelon became corrupt as hell and tried to over throw the govt. Sam Fisher was basically asked to stop that from happening. Now it seems as though he will be the head of a new 3rd Echelon, one even more 'off the grid' than the previous 3rd Echelon

that and he found his Daughter who was being hunted by these guys too in conviction. which lambert helped to hide her. He was renegade since the events of double agent took place. Now in this new one they say he's the leader of 3rd Echelon even though it looks like grim's incharge.

the gameplay looked good, but it wasn't the trademark Splinter Cell stealth game we've come to know. Not having Ironside is a major let down for me, I will probably not buy the game because he is not voicing Fisher. That would be like if there was a new MGS with Snake in it and the role went to someone like idk Adrien Brody instead of Hayter, sorry I couldn't get used to that.

Ah, I see. I've been meaning to read up on the wiki for Sam. I kept hearing them talk about the Fourth Echelon, and I was like WTH is that.

Moving this to multi-plat.

Looks good, but no Ironside is sad.

I'm still hoping that fan pressure will change things.

I mean...it worked with Hobo Sam.

Just saw that this will in fact be released for PS3 and I'm very excited. But any reason given as to why Conviction wasn't? I know the original Splinter Cell was exclusive to Microsoft at first, but seeing as how all the others were multiplatform, I didn't understand what changed with Conviction.

And yeah, no Ironside is definitely a downer, but I gotta admit, I like Eric Johnson, although it is weird to hear his voice which sounds very different than Ironside's deeper voice.

MS paid Ubisoft. Its as simple as that. Guess they didn't want to re-up this go round.

As for the new VA, i personally like what iv heard. It will be jarring to get used to a new Fisher, but it was jarring getting used to a new Bond(Craig after Brosnan) and Superman(Routh after Reeve) and Batman(Everyone else after Keaton) etc.

The more I see the trailers&gameplay again..The more I'm over Ironside not returning and am still excited for the new games&beyond,As I said before I've always been a fan of his&him voicing the character But like with Hitman..I'm not that attached and I sure ain't leaving the franchises over new voices!!

I'll be honest, when I first saw news about this and Johnson as Fisher, I thought it was a prequel. Like I get why he was replaced, but it just seems weird considering this is like the 6th game in the franchise.

Ironside just wasn't feeling the script this time. c happens. going to mid east is a sore spot and he's canadian after all too. even though alot of our own troops were there..... he just wasn't feeling it. If not for that reason, then there are others. Maybe after this one and if there's a better script he might come back. You just never know.

Oh it definitely f**ks with continuity as Sam now looks and sounds younger than he ever has. Ah well, everything else looks bad ass I can deal with a new Fisher. I mean Ironside wasn't gonna be able to do the role forever

Loved the E3 footage. This was not on my radar really before but will definitely be getting at some point now. This and Tomb Raider were the 2 games that surprised me at E3, others were very good but they were already expected to be very good.

Yeah, honestly that's all that bothers me. I figured Fisher was too old by Double Agent, but seeing him in another adventure and now this one, its hard to believe that he has gotten quicker, and even sounds younger.

On a side note, I was just watching some videos for Conviction, and would I be safe to assume that the Execute target lock is similar to the Deadeye in Red Dead Redemption?

Btw how many Splinter Cell games are there and what are they?

It sucks Ironside won't be doing the voice of Sam, but damn it that game looked great. I like how they've expanded on the mark and execute feature and it practically makes Sam even more of a one man army. Also, the fact that they are upping the threat to more on a global scale calls for some interesting locations, I'm Splinter Cell: Blacklist DAY ONE PURCHASE

Splinter Cell (2002)
Splinter Cell: Pandora Tomorrow (2004)
Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory (2005)
Splinter Cell: Essentials (PSP only) (2006)
Splinter Cell: Double Agent (2006)
Splinter Cell: Conviction (2010)
Splinter Cell: Blacklist (2013)

Great thanks

So Chaos Theory is the first on 360. Is it one continuous story? If so I might youtube the 1st 2 and then play them all in order.
