Exactly my thinking.

I really think alot less people know about this movie than what you think...we are fans of Superman and we spend countless hours on these boards discussing the movie....the general public who don't spend those countless hours online on these message boards or any other Comic Book or movie message board have no clue yet that a Superman move is coming out.....before the internet did you know a year or more in advance that a new move was coming out and anything about it? I don't recall knowing as much as we do now a year before a movie was coming out before the internet..so sorry...I don't buy that all these people you claim to know about the movie know yet......and I don't feel that way becasue I am worried they hate Routh or the Suit or Singer...I realy don't think the general public know much if anything about it yet.

YUP!

But of course they do. The interest in Comic to Movie films has sky-rocketed. Look at how much money the new Batman and Spiderman films made...are you serious??? That's not all comic book nerds going to see those movies...that's kids, mothers, fathers, grandmothers, grandfathers...everyone is hip to comic movies these days, so don't act like everyone is dumb to the new Superman movie. Give me a break.

The actors don't do a bad job. I think that guy does a great Batman, and the Superman actually looks like a man!

Thats the person I think should have got the role in the SR movie...
HE LOOKS IDENTICAL to alot of the comic's version of Superman!
Yes he actually looks like a man, and not a teenager lol
And for it being a FANFILM I thought his acting was very good.. With a major movie studio behind him, and a good director he could have been the best SUPERMAN EVER!

Even his clark looks alot like the comic clark...
Singer said he was to big, and didn't cast him.. What a fool Bryan Singer is.

Yeah and when the general public finds out about them is when the trailers hit the theaters and when the commercials for them start on TV......IMO not from the info that goes out over the internet and sites like the HYPE. That same general public is who will make SR a blockbuster...because they won't care that the suit is different than Mr. Reeve's or the comic book suit. The general public will care if it is a good story...and that it is action packed and has god F/X.

I just think people should give Routh a chance before they bash and complain like most are doing....we don't know yet how he will be as Superman..he could turn out to be the best Superman..or the worse..we just don't know....my biggest gripe is no one is giving the guy a chance.

I actually think we (the ones giving the kid a chance) are in the majority. The fact that NOBODY knows ANYTHING about him is a good thing......it'll make things easier for him in terms of focus and the stretch down to next year.

LOL Vague history is a lazy way out of having to explain why his Superman looks like a Teen, and why his Lois looks like a highschool cheerleader.

Or.......it maybe a way to write off "WTF?!!!" moments.....like Superman spinning the world back in time and saving Lois......or him tossing a plastic Superman bag at a badguy in the Fotress........?

By the way the whole thing with Superman going the speed of light would not explain it cause he's still going to have to atleast look as old as he did in Superman 2 which he clearly doesn't, and this wouldn't explain why everyone else looks so much younger also.

You want the people in this movie to look EXACTLY like the previous actors...? So, toss out talent and potential....?

The actors don't do a bad job. I think that guy does a great Batman, and the Superman actually looks like a man!

Yeah......like a man hooked on anabolic steroids and horse tranquilizers.......

Even his clark looks alot like the comic clark...

Do you REALLY think that's the only reason Singer didn't cast him........? I mean, the guy looked like he couldn't act his way out of a wet paper bag.....so you'd just hand him the keys to the entire franchise JUST cause he looks like the freak on roids comic version?

I'm happy Singer didn't cast him.......if he had, I'd be against this film all the way.

I'm pretty sure even Welling haters would have hated that guy too.

O'Hearn couldn't act his way out of a paper bag...he is not a professional actor....Singer tested him and he didn't get the part...O'Hearn is a joke and is TOO BIG to play Superman in a big budget movie...NO O'Hearn :down

Yah, you compare him to the Superman of the comic books and he's dead on. And the suit isn't overly done. He's a big dude, but that's what Superman is. They shouldn't have cast Routh for his Clark Kent look, which must have been the case because I've got more muscle than that little guy. The other Fanfilm of Collora, where Batman is chasing the Joker and he meets up with Alien and Predator, That's a great Batman. And, that's how the suit should be, in my opinion, you know the real Batman wouldn't be able to move in that thick rubber mess.Oh if I only ruled the world.

In a movie he is too big for both...in the Fan made film he looked terrible as both IMO...he is too big......a comic book Superman doesn't look right in the Real World.....O'Hearn is bigger than Mr.Reeve...Mr. Reeve looked great as Superman...O'Hearn like others have said..looks like a porn star. :down

Well there are always 2 sides to everything, this is no diffrent theres those who like Routh, and those who don't.
I personally see alot of those who do like him in the forums but from just talking to friends, and people at work nobody seems to like him.
Ask around, and show the pictures of him in the suit, and watch the reaction you get...

lol I never liked the whole Superman turning back time in the first movie cause it just opens up a bag of worms.
If he turned back time to a point where Lois isn't dead then he also should have had to go stop the nukes all over again but he seemed to have forgot all about that, and it seemed like that didn't even cross the mind's of donner/puzo.

ChrisBaleBatman said:

Actually I don't!
I don't like the idea that the movie is a sequel... I wanted a movie which was walking on it's own legs, and not have to step all over the work Chris Reeve did in his 4 movies.
This movie is blaspheme for that it's nothing more then a remake of Superman 3.
They cast a bunch of WATER DOWN look alikes for this SR movie, and that's a major problem I have with the movie.
Superman, Lex both look like the actors who played them in the donner movie... But really water down.

ChrisBaleBatman said:
Yeah......like a man hooked on anabolic steroids and horse tranquilizers.......
lol how do you know that he's on any kind of roids? Maybe he's been working out for a decade or so, and has build his body to where it is now... You know don't assume the guys a roider just cause he's big.
I know a couple of body builders myself who are bigger, and they don't juice up.
Besides you can tell when someone is on the juice.. look at Jose Canseco , Mark Mcgwire, Sammy Sosa, and Barry Bonds for crying outloud!
Mike looks like he works out alot but he doesn't have the look of a person who's on the Juice.

Well he wasn't ever thrown off a tv show for bad acting after they had created the role for him especially.. Routh has that honor.
Also he wasn't on MTV, and in a Aguilera music video like Routh.
So if your ok with Brandon Routh who is a notoriously bad actor then why wouldn't you give Mike a chance? He atleast LOOKS the part!
Also don't take the acting in a FAN FILM to heart... The guy could have been amazing with the right director, and studio behind him...

You might have but then you can't argue with the people who feel the same way about Routh.
I don't anything about Routh's look to be SUPER at all.. He just doesn't look the role IMO.

heh probably not they would have gone with anyone Singer cast aslong as it's not TW.

I'd rather listen to their opinion and not yours. You only account for one side of this arguement, and not everyone will agree with it like you do

and that goes the same for the way I think.

In my opinion.....a REAL Batman would be killed within 3 seconds with a gray outfit like that. The comic costume is LITERALLY a joke.....there are too many inconsistencies that would offend the inteligence of viewers. Armored costume makes SENSE.......it's what would work in the real world. Batman may be slightly crazy.....but he's not stupid. He knows bullets don't bounce off his chest.....he needs protection for when the crap hits the fan. It's what saved his life when he was set on fire by the Scarecrow......

You mean that he's too big to play Clark Kent...He's no bigger than Superman is in the comics.

Actually.....I think he's 2 inches too short. Superman is supposed to be 6'4....6'3. O'hearn is like 6'1 or 6'2......from what I've read atleast.

The problem with him is that he's literally too big......the dude honestly looks like he's on roids.....plus he can't act. So, there you go.

Neither can Routh but that didn't stop Singer from casting him now did it?

Mike has something over Routh tho.. He looks like an adult, and also looks like the character... Routh looks like neither.

This guy even has the same Hairline as that version of Clark/Superman!
He is a complete clone of the Ruby Spears Clark/Superman.
Aswell as other comics which have nothing to do with the Ruby Spears toons...

The Routh getting fired from a soap is getting old.....I trust Singer...he wouldn't cast someone who can't act or who would ruin this big budget movie...this is not a FAN MADE Film! and O'Hearn can't act....END OF STORY!

heh probably not they would have gone with anyone Singer cast aslong as it's not TW.
Actually I was backing Welling until Routh got cast......I trust Singer and I am glad Welling didn't get cast...that would of been the end of SV.

I take it Venoim that you would've backed Burton 100 percent as well, wouldn't ya?

What his Superman concept...NO WAY...I don't want Superman looking like Frankenstein :down

you should back anybody making your film for two reaosn

1. they could surprise you and you look ******ed in the end
2. the film needs the positive hype

granted, with fans superman needs positive hype but no more then spiderman did in 2001. in public, superman is doing fine. only in austrailia re some people against it because it shutdown their city.
