Disappointing. Now the waiting game for the new director announcement.

Oh give me a break. WB/DC has flaws with what they're doing, but let's not forget that they explicitly went looking for female director for WW when Marvel was twiddling it's thumbs and fanboys were b****ing about male directors being excluded from a female-lead film. And then when that director didn't work out, they found another female to follow up with. They got a POC director on a white character (something that probably triggered a "Wait, we can do that?" from Marvel) and if that's something they intentionally set out looking for in the first place, they'll look for a replacement.

Lets not forget, SS being a film with such a diverse cast, and Wan being Malaysian born. DCEU is many things, but one thing it surely is, is diverse and progressive.

Outside of Jennifer Kent.

Name me other capable female directors working today.

Please don't include Lexi Alexander tho.

My question is not in any way sarcastic, just can't think of many at the moment.

They hired him and then fired him. While Marvel is bringing the world Black Panther. Also Jessica Jones season 2 will have only female directors.

If a female director is never given a chance how can she prove herself?

I've always given Marvel hell over their lack of diversity and I still do. Marvel has not done a good job at the diversity thing and anyone who claims otherwise is just a blind fanboy/fangirl.

No.

But you can't just ask for a female director and not give examples. I'm sure there are examples of indie female directors out there, just not known, which is why i asked for maybe a candidate.

Shame on them for not doing it their first season then! :argh:

:o

I dont trust him for many reasons one of them being that he a) "vehemently dislikes" the movies of this franchise, b) He said this on twitter , c) He seems to have a dodgy past, d) His social behaviour is of a *****ebag which was appararent with just 2 mins of internet searching.

All of those told me I cant trust this guy, he doesnt seem professional. But whatever rocks your boat man, I never see you during anything positive DC related anyway. That kinda tells me a lot.
How does any of this mean he doesn't know who is still in charge at WB?

I am a MoS fan. TDK is my second favorite superhero movie after the Incredibles. Begins is my third. I am enjoying the Flash again after a poor second season. I am enjoying Supergirl. I still mourn the loss of Constantine, Green Lantern, and Young Justice. I watch every new episode of Teen Titans Go. I still buy the direct to video DC movies. I am reading Wonder Woman and the new Fables comic.

I love DC. That doesn't mean I have to like the movies or the direction WB is going.

Son, I meant a realistic choice.
You should have been more specific then, dad. :o

How about Mira Nair and Sophia Coppola?

It is honestly hard to find female film directors, because they don't get the chances, especially with studios might consider tentpole material. So unless you have vast television director knowledge, which I do not, you won't know many. And even then, they rarely get the call up.

Oh, they most definitely getting a white male director tho. I just hope he is good.

You dont have to. You dont have to magically pop up whenever something negative turns up about DCEU and then disappear when the good news starts flooding in(Case in point : SS financial success). Yet you do. But thats your life, your rules.

Anyway, I have had enough of this. I am not gonna reply further.

Grant Mother****ing Morrison, y'all.

In a perfect world, he'd co write the MOS2 script. Or to keep it on topic, a Flash one. If Morrison could write a great Superman and Batman, imagine what he'd do with his favorite superhero.

Also, are people still pulling the "You never say nice things about the DCEU" crap? What is the point of that?

Yeah criticizing the movies don't necessarily mean you dislike DC. I never understood this line of thinking from certain people.

People really take the "ride or die" thing seriously. Being a DC fan doesn't mean you have to like every single thing.

I think Jessica Jones is a great step forward for them. A woman show runner, second season going to have all female directors. It is actual effort imo.

And I'm sure not all female directors are interested in directing blockbusters.

Same thing with Marvel. I feel kinda bad for those who read their comics, especially in their current state in that division.
