Yeah criticizing the movies don't necessarily mean you dislike DC. I never understood this line of thinking from certain people.

People really take the "ride or die" thing seriously. Being a DC fan doesn't mean you have to like every single thing.

Should have been clearer,my bad. Meant DCEU.

I think Jessica Jones is a great step forward for them. A woman show runner, second season going to have all female directors. It is actual effort imo.
They are taking good steps forward, I admit. I love the Jessica Jones news.

You dont have to. You dont have to magically pop up whenever something negative turns up about DCEU and then disappear when the good news starts flooding in(Case in point : SS financial success). Yet you do. But thats your life, your rules.

Anyway, I have had enough of this. I am not gonna reply further.
Notice how you made this all about me to avoid talking about the subject at hand? Yeah.

And I'm sure not all female directors are interested in directing blockbusters.
Is that really the point, at all? The vast majority of directors, no matter their gender or race, do want to direct a blockbuster or two. It is how you bank cred, get passion projects off the ground. Nolan isn't even really a Batman guy, but he still directed TDKT, and that lead to Inception and Interstellar.

And for many, these kind of movies are their passion projects.

Outside of Jennifer Kent.

Name me other capable female directors working today.

Please don't include Lexi Alexander tho.

My question is not in any way sarcastic, just can't think of many at the moment.

plenty of talented female directors

Lynne Ramsay(We Need to Talk About Kevin)
Ava DuVernay(Selma)
Andrea Arnold(Fish Tank,Wuthering Heights)
Lisa Cholodenko(The Kids Are Alright)
Debra Granik(Winter's Bone)
Susanne Bier(Serena,The Night Manager)
Niki Caro(Whale Rider,North Country)
Mira Nair(Queen Of Katwe)
Kelly Reichardt(Certain Women,Meek's Cutoff,Night Moves)

No. Because I made my opinions quite clear about the subject at hand.I gave my opinion about what I dont trust a journo. You dont have to agree with me.I only stopped after the discussion started going in circles.

He always does that.

K.

Now we are talking, but there are few in this list which is just a big no for me.

But good list.

Borys Kit wrote the article on Hollywood Reporter on him leaving the movie. So I mean, it's on THR and it's real. What's the problem here?

Problem is Nikki Finke isn't really writing these stories anymore. IMHO, one of Nikki Finke's biggest mistakes was selling Deadline PMC and going corporate. Eventually they phased her out. Say what you want about Finke, but she did a good job of calling these things and reporting them properly. I think she served as a good watchdog for the industry. I mean, I'm sure she got paid nicely for sale, but Deadline lost something without her. Deadline sort of lost that cool fringe underdog spirit. Now they seem like every other trade out there.

I think Warner Bros. and DC Entertainment basically need to clean the whole house and then restart from there.

I did notice Deadline got a lot more... friendly over the last year or so. When did the sale happen?

This news does nothing for me since it happens good amount of time before principal photography was set to begin.

2009. Finke officially left for good in 2013. She sort of brought it on herself. She sold the company, and the goals and tone of the company changed. It became part of a larger corporate conglomerate.

I'm not saying Deadline is bad, but was once a cooler edgier blog on the entertainment industry that would often cut through all the BS sort of lost that edge. Now it's sort of homogenized to all the other trades out there.

I trust THR articles. I dont trust things when they write it on twitter, as they are not accountable. Simple. Its my belief. Not trying to force it on anyone.

After what happened with "Jane Get Your Gun"?

Wow. Has there been any other major changes recently? Because I feel like it is different from even a couple of years ago.

To me it just misses that spirit and style Finke brought to the site. To me it's just sort of redundant.

What got me recently was their box office reporting. They seem to like to paint things in the best light unless something is a clear bomb from the jump. But even with Warcraft, they got weird.

In a perfect world, he'd co write the MOS2 script. Or to keep it on topic, a Flash one. If Morrison could write a great Superman and Batman, imagine what he'd do with his favorite superhero.

Also, are people still pulling the "You never say nice things about the DCEU" crap? What is the point of that?

I feel that Johns is as far as the comics side of things will go when it comes to any kind of real influence/involvement with the DCEU.

Amazing director. I feel like we wont get a big name like that for Flash. Probably an indie director.

He's well known for his writing but only has two directing credits under his belt.

Ex Machina was great though.

It would be great if they could land him and let him do his thing.

Seems like WB only gives full freedom to guys who have huge sway like Affleck and Wan.
