They might just want to keep it as a fun surprise. If he is in though I wouldn't expect more than very small cameo.

Ok yeah that makes sense for trying to hide it for as long as possible if it's a small role less than a few minutes long

Like a week before filming started Mackie said he hadn't heard anything. Could be lying but why? Why would Falcon being in it be some major spoiler?

his new wings are made of vibranium and essential to destroying Ultron; in the final battle.

from 22nd april

“I know I can actually be Clint Barton and Hawkeye in this one, and not be the sort of, um, puppet for Loki, this time, which I’m very happy about.”

Itll def be cool to see him flesh out the actual character of Clint Barton in AOU. weve only seen a little bit of him so far, esp compared to the other guys like Iron Man, Hulk, Cap, Thor each who've had a lot of story progression.

Yeah, I have a strong feeling "privatizing world security" is more about having an Avengers charter, headquarters and support staff, rather anything SHIELD-like.

Exactly.
Dunno where some of these theories about "Tony Stark, Director of SHIELD" come from. Comic-book Tony (Director of SHIELD) is in a very different place, politically and psychologically and physically, than MCU Tony. RDJ Tony has no reason nor inclination to have anything at all to do with SHIELD, old or new. His whole reaction to the events of TWS are probably somewhere along the lines of: "See, I knew I couldn't trust Nick Fury or any of those guys. Good riddance --- to HYDRA *and* SHIELD."

If he is in there, that's what I was thinking as well. There would be an end battle where he and Warmachine/IP show up and join in the fray.

Having said that, there is still a lot of BS being thrown around, so I'm not convinced he'll be in the film but we'll see.

Makes sense why Cap would have an Avengers logo on his costume; they're a real organization in this movie.

They maybe have mobilised to take care of Hydra sites off-screen, with one of the final ones being Strucker's one in A:AoU where the twins are held

Cap has pledged loyalty to the group of people he knows he can trust: The Avengers. SHIELD is dead as disco.

Is there now a chance Ant-Man will have a small role in the movie?

Ant Man wont appear in AOU, but Hank Pym or Scott Lang could show up in an end credits sequence.

I would be genuinely shocked if there wasn't even a reference to him. It's the perfect marketing opportunity.

Yep, they should do it. Hope it happens.

Ant Man: I wonder if it will be a story where Hank Pym retired decades earlier from being Ant Man and stored the suit in some safe or secured room then Scott Lang breaks in and steals it. They have to give a reason why Pym hasnt been talked about in the MCU if he was already a super hero way back in the 60s.

I'm guessing Ant-Man would have been working in secret against communist agents and would have stayed out of the public's eye.

I have been watching the fantastic NBA playoffs the last two weeks and it was just now that it hit me. When they start next year, they are going to be flooded with AoU tv spots. :D

Will be nice to have AOU spots highlighting the Heat's run to a 4-peat

That sounds good. It has to be something like that. A secret super hero in the 60s.

I imagine either Pym's time active as Ant-Man was top secret and perhaps Pym became reclusive, spending all his time in his lab after he retired so no one sees him much.

I would be surprised if there was not a Ant-Man after credit scene or Pym reference at some point. Ant-Man could use the rub from something Avengers related.

^^ Patrick Wilson might be playing young Hank Pym: Sorta reminds me of Watchmen, how Night Owl II hangs up his suit and retires then comes back later on. Only this time itll be Scott Lang as Anty.
