Yes. The only time she really looked ethnic was in the Earth's Mightiest Heroes animated series.

So I don't understand the whitewashing comment.

She's Canadian eh?

Yes and was once a teen pop star named Robin Sparkles

She's looked vaguely of Italian or Hispanic descent, but always hailed from Chicago so again I don't see the problem aside from "I don't like the actress so ANGER"

This entire discussion is extremely questionable.

Tell it to the person who brought up 'whitewashing'

Oh no, they replaced a character of unstated heritage with a pasty Canadian! There's maple syrup and mooses EVERYWHERE!

This is what happens when there is lack of new news for the last few weeks.

And zero trash! I swear I've never seen a cleaner place than Canada.

I'm pretty sure that Allison Hannigan put a good word in for Cobie Smulders when they were looking to cast Maria Hill.

True. At the end of the day does it really matter? We've got what we've got.

Yeah, doesn't matter to me. I'm used to her as Maria Hill and think she has gotten better in the part, especially after seeing her in AoS.

:funny:

Her name is Maria! She must be Hispanic and/or Italian.

And how in the hell does HYDRA (notably Alexander Pierce) did not see Maria Hill as a threat when Cap 2 first starts?

Maria Hill could be Latina, she could be bi-racial. What she wasn't in comics or on EMH was snow white. But there are so many women of color on screen in films, comic books movies and the MCU I could see how that would just escape notice and not be any big deal. :o

Speaking of women of color, she needs to be in the MCU in the future:

I don't know how she would debut or in what MCU film, but she needs to be in it.

So I take it we won't be getting the extremely *****y Maria Hill anytime soon in the MCU.

Let's just call it even with Johnny. Bwahahahahaha :D

Aside from it being the opposite of being more diverse than the comics Jordan is a very good actor and CS is um very pretty. So, in that regard more akin to Alba in the first FF series. :word:

If that first asterisk is supposed to be a "b" then my guess would be no. She's too soft and likable as Maria. Her most cold blooded bad ass moment is in TWS when she shoots two agents - and it's effective because her back is to the camera. There is no way I buy her as Fury's even more ruthless bordering on fascist right hand.
