I have a feeling ultron himself won't even exist until the end of the first act. He'll work with hydra in the second and betray them in the end for his own agenda in the 3rd act I'm guessing.

Perhaps Stark creates him after their scuffle with the Twins and Strucker?

I would assume Strucker and the Twins pose a huge threat so the Avengers get together and officially form the Avengers (what with the Avengers Tower and all), which is Act 1.

Then Ultron turns bad from Act 2 and onwards. All the while we have HYDRA acting as secondary antagonists (the goons perhaps?).

Or will Ultron be the secondary?

Doubt he will create him.

^^ They are shooting action scenes in a forest setting and we saw images of HYDRA type tanks in set pics awhile ago. Probably Avengers taking on Strucker and HYDRA forces at a secret base.

i have a theory that ultron will start out in the movie as just one of tony's iron legion and he then gains sentience from getting magic thingamajig zapped by scarlet witch.

I see no reason why Thor couldn't spam lightning, or even do some kind of "targeted lightning" attack. Alternatively, weather changes that make the ground unsteady for running.

Iron Man, meanwhile, has a computerized onboard control system; I could buy some kind of "set suit for automatic tracking and targeting", and basically letting the suit aim and fire itself.

HYDRA doesn't want to wipe out humanity; they just want to wipe out superheroes. And then corner the market on superpowers for their own brand of villainy. In other words, ultimatum to (un)registered gifted: join HYDRA, or die.

Ultron would be the ideal tool for HYDRA to enact The Zola Algorithm.


In other news, anybody keeping up with the news from Marvel today about that girl from The Middle, Eden Sher? The news involves Tweets about an 80-lb stack of Ms. Marvel comics....

It makes all the sense in the world to me that Stark creates Ultron given what he's done with the suits to this point but for whatever reason, I can't shake the thought that Zola and/or Project Insight play into his creation.

From what I know of the comic books and the Ultron story, it would seem the way they described and framed Project insight in CA:TWS is a direct lead-in to Ultron and what his mission is. Maybe I'm wrong, probably am for that matter, but I just can't get past that.

Sort of related - I CAN NOT wait to hear Spader's voice as Ultron. I think that's going to be awesome!

^^We've been over this ULTRON origin thing about 20 times now. I think following SHIELDs collapse Tony creates him as a replacement "superbrain" (not a robot) to help The Avengers track down/kill HYDRA but he gains sentience and decides he wants to wipe out humanity instead (then begins building his robotic design etc) Youre forgetting 1) The SDCC teaser that clearly shows Iron Mans helmet being remade into ULTRONS head (what was the point of that if not to show he comes from Tony? 2) Tony is a genius (made an arc reactor in a cave) and when provoked by something like his parents deaths by TWS, he would create the ultimate AI (this is beyond Zolas computer or Project Insight) to get revenge 3) Uh, JARVIS anyone?

If others want to believe HYDRA (the villains) creates an ultimate villain, cool, thats your thing maaaan. It doesnt make sense to me though. If they had a role in ULTRON they wouldve set it up in TWS. Project Insight was their last play and it was destroyed. Besides its pretty likely Strucker (no tech genius) is using the scepter for his future plans.

Absolutely true.
Main difference being: Longoria and Chestnut didn't Tweet about it; Marvel didn't Tweet about them Tweeting about it; and neither Eva nor Morris got emotional about it to the point that they were crying and absolutely could not *wait* to dig into their stack of comics.

Absolutely true.
That's probably why Sher's Tweet was quietly taken down a couple of hours later. (Still on da Internets, though. CBM and other sites still have the Tweet cap.)

Yes, she does. Uncannily. Her acting style would definitely fit Jewel, too.

Bingo.

My idea is that it was this computer software by Pym, long ago, who received help from Howard Stark. This program, perhaps Project Insight, could have been buried deep within shield's hidden files or something. After HYDRA's infiltration of SHIELD, they could have gotten access to this AI and tried to use it to deal with the algorithm.

Meanwhile, the software has a front row seat to all the political stuff going on with SHIELD vs HYDRA.

Tony could maybe have built a bunch of robot drones or something, but deep within SHIELD, he would find this software, this AI, and see that his dad worked on it. Tony already has trust in AI, so he brings it into the world..maybe modifies it, maybe doesn't. Now, we saw Cap's role in the politics of the winter soldier, and the role he had in the collapse of SHIELD against HYDRA could be viewed as a way to lead into the avengers sequel.

Ultron would have been watching and gathering everything wrong with supers, HYDRA, SHIELD, humanity, and the avengers.

This way, not only would Ultron come from the avengers we know, he would have come from basically all corners of the MCU.

Doing this would give the character much more presence. If some part of Ultron doesn't exist before the Avengers sequel, and if Stark is the sole creator of Ultron...the person who replies to this message first, mark my words...I will send you $40 via pay pal. screen shot it, put it in your sig, whatever.

Ms Marvel should be....an Air Force woman, that is all. let's not get sexist here. Also she is good looking, that is subjective
