^^ Could be that too. Maybe they have a facility out on Long Island.

There has to be an Avengers Tower, whatever else they choose to do.

Because they believe you're doing it on purpose to get a rise out of them now that you're aware that it bothers them. That you're still doing it, days later, well after everyone else has moved on only lends validation to those who feel your motives are less than innocent.

This is a message board dedicated to the discussion of the characters found in the Avengers. I prefer to keep the conversations on subject ie about said characters. "You can attack my opinions but it makes no sense to attack ME" is what I'm saying. The only reason I even posted about that laughably bad Hawkeye scene was because some dude on here said he was a "show me don't tell me" guy. Well I would have loved for the movie to show me.

(Guessing) This could be the front/bottom of Avengers Tower (its a box shaped Arts Center at the university). The rest of AT will be CGI'd above. Of course the actual Tower top with lab etc is a set at the studio. The field where the recruits are running might be a park outside the tower.

Strategically, does it make sense for them to have a base as a big giant tower? I think a military type base would be more efficient

Especially a base in the middle of the most populated city in the US.

But eh, it's the comics.

The comic book rationale was that using the Tower just made sense from a financial perspective. They couldn't get anyone interested in renting space in it because the damn thing looked like a prime target for supervillains, terrorists, or alien invaders, so Tony decided as long as he had a massive money pit in the middle of the city that might be attacked anyway, he should at least get some use out of it by having the Avengers live there.

what exactly made it a prime target before the avengers lived there though?

My idea was that there was a newly built courtyard/park as part of Tower at the bottom (w/ the university Arts center doubling as the bottom/entry area of the new Avengers tower), but it might just be a different new Avengers facility somewhere else.

There might be. I'm just throwing my thoughts out there.

While Mackie was signing autographs at Philly Con a few minutes ago he was asked if he'd been anywhere exciting lately and he replied, “Well I was in London.” He's such a tease lol.

As for the university pics...I'm guessing it's a new training facility, not Avengers Academy per se but a training facility for nuSHIELD recruits.

....or a new park built around the bottom of Avengers Tower. Its probably just another new place entirely.

The more I think about it, Avengers Mansion makes more sense. Oh well, just brainstorming.

By virtue of just being a high tech, expensive landmark owned by a billionaire with a well-known history of being attacked by supervillains.

They could use a similar rationale here. That arc reactor inside might be seen as the sort of thing that could attract more bad guys after Loki.

Maybe you should start a thread about it instead of continuing to derail this one.

Wait, there already is a Hawkeye thread: http://forums.superherohype.com/showthread.php?t=468629

I saw some Tumblr posts that he was basically teasing Sebastian about how good looking he is and his hair (it may be worth noting that it seem Seb's hair is getting longer HMMMMMM...)

Dude, Mackie is either the biggest Marvel nightmare dropping truth bombs and basically confirming rumors or he is the biggest troll ever.

The tumblr/instagram posts from Philly Con with Stan and Mackie are giving me life.

ETA: Apparently Sebastian kept peeving the people running the convention b/c he was giving too many hugs and allowing too many free pictures or something LOL! I'm DYING if this is true!

Again, please stick to posting about the characters of the movie and stop trying to detail the thread with some personal flame war.

You're the one whining about being unfairly attacked. I just offered an explanation. I can't help it if you didn't like it.

*ahem* *kaff kaff*

Ignore functions... ;)

Me too - it's been an amazing day watching everything on tumblr/twitter. I really wish I could have gone. And I think more than one person said that Sebastian kept doing things that upset the convention people lol. But hey it's not like they can do anything about it - he and Mackie are the reason people are buying those expensive tickets to be there. ^__^ I liked the story one girl posted about how she wanted him to write "who the hell is bucky" on a shield prop she'd made, and the con handler tried to say no but Sebastian ignored her and signed it anyway.

Hopefully the Wizard World people will post a full, decent quality video of their Q&A panel on their youtube channel soon.
