So I know that it's already been established that the new IM armor we saw on set is essentially the MK42 from IM3 but with the colors inverted. However, I was just looking through my IM3 art book today and noticed that it was actually one of Ryan Meinerding's alternate designs for the MK42. The main difference being that the biceps and forearm on the new armor still retain same color layout as on the MK42 but with the hands being all red. Pretty cool! It's always nice to see unused concepts make it into another film. Sorry if this was pointed out already.

Looks like his best costume yet.

Looks great

thor is the only one where his costume doesn't need big changes

it looks cool
He's/it's looked perfect from day 1. Although I'd say the same for Iron Man. And I'm 100% happy with Hulk going forward from Avengers (even though I liked the TIH version too) and Cap from TWS.

It's a pretty cool thing when most are in agreement that the MCU doesn't need hardly any changes. Speaks a lot about how spot on Joss and Co appreciate the source material

Indeed, its never been a better time to be a Marvel fan!

I'm glad they're keeping the Dark World outfit and they're not changing and changing things. That Thor costume looks great.

If you'd asked me after Avengers I'd have said Cap needs some changes, and well..he got them! It's great like you say that they managed to get so many elements right 1st time out on such a complicated property to make work.

It is pretty sweet, but I'm still partial to Mark 7. Despite being blocky and thick, it had a certain elegance to it, had a strong silhouette, and a freaking jet pack. I never knew I wanted Iron Man to have a jet pack (you'd think it'd be pretty redundant what with rocket boots and flight stabilizers in the hands) until I saw him use it to fight an alien armada in mid-flight.

IM3's focus on Tony's innovation was pretty nice, yet I still crave more kick ass, full metal Iron Man action. Hopefully we get a fair amount of that before Ultron kicks Tony back into the stone age.

Can he be sleeveless the whole movie? His arms deserve the exposure.

I wish. He looks a million times more badass but yet they insist on armoring him up.

In Avengers too. He looked awesome strutting sleeveless around the helicarrier, like he was enjoying the UN-financed air conditioning, but as soon as he armored his guns to fight Loki he just looked hot and sweaty and uncomfortable.

Yeah, and Thor really shouldn't even need armor. The Son of Odin and God of Thunder should be able to shrug off most attacks with his bare skin. If anything the armor is more for show, like the cape.

I disagree. I think both looks work. When he's sleeveless he looks more rugged, but with the sleeves he looks more royal and battle ready. The sleeves complete the look.

Not only would I like sleeveless Thor but also bluer pants and a battle helmet.

I'm still hoping that we'll get some news involving Thor (Chris) being spotted within an exterior location, that isn't within a studio, which involves him being a part of a big action sequence.

So far, we've had set photos reveal that every other Avenger will be involved in some real-world exterior location that involves a action sequence, whereas the only time that we've seen Thor was at the Avengers academy.

His arms and shoulders look smaller than they did for avengers 1. He looks leaner.

I think it is a very casual fan encounter photo. When's he actually filming, he'd have pumped his arms with dumbell curls so that they look appropriately Thor like.

I thought he looked smallish in some pictures during filming of Thor: The Dark World but when you see the finished film and BTS pictures, you see he's Mr. Babylon Biceps like always.

I think he will be fine in AOU too.

I second this. Hemsworth looks even more badass in the sleeveless costume. Its one thing if your star is not built enough to be able to carry off such a costume but Hemsworth is more than up to the task so it seems like a missed opportunity to not have him sleevless.

I think the sleeved costume should be the dress code for the halls of Asgard as a ceremonial costume. All other times, he should be sleeveless.

I agree with this... I've always loved his sleeveless look :)

Are you suggesting Thor fighting in naught but his birthday suit?! Hmmmmmmmmm :sus

I'd wait for better pics before we say that for certain. It's a candid pic that's poorly lit/exposed in a hallway and with the two guys and the shadows at play due to his cape and costume I think - in this particular situation - it's playing a bit of an optical illusion and making his arms seem smaller than they probably are

Maybe most of his battle scenes might require a lot of green screen much like Mackie's Falcon did in Cap 2? If they're filming his flight scens those will definately happen in a studio with green screen and wires. But I agree, we need to see Thor is battle out-side. For me it's extremely worrying that we haven't gotten to see more of him. Hope he gets some sick stuff to do in the film. I would have a huge nerd-gasm if he says the iconic line from Ultron Unlimited.:woot:
