Cap swapping with SW is a brilliant, BRILLIANT idea.

Well, to be clear, I'm not suggesting the two would simply swap release dates. Cap's not even in pre-production yet, so they'd have to rush it to get it in theaters next year, and nobody wants a rush job (especially since Evans is kinda busy playing Cap in another film at the moment). I'm just suggesting that SW might get bumped to its slot, while Cap would likely get bumped to a later summer date in 2016 (like the July 8th slot they had reserved for an as-of-yet-unannounced Marvel film, perhaps?). Not sure what they would want to put in SW's current slot, though. Maybe The Jungle Book? That December date's gotta be more desirable than the October one it currently has.

Honestly, I really want Cap to move up to April. Even March if at all possible. They should start shooting early next year, right? If they start shooting a year in advance, they should be able to make April 2016.

When is that comic con thing? Sometime next month? I'm just really excites to get a solid guideline of what each studio has in store. I've never been one to care about release dates or potential profits, just make cool movies I like lol.

???? - the other 2017 movie will NOT be Avengers 3. It's 3 year gaps between Avengers movies. Like I mentioned before, there was a rumor awhile back about Marvel deciding on Hulk, BP or GOTG 2. Going by this timeline, we're going to get 4 solo movies again (like in Phase One)!

I say Black Panther. Then do a Hulk sequel and/or team up movie with Namor in Phase 4. Or give both of them solo movies. Then at the end of Phase 4 do a Defenders movie.

I say do BP and/or Captain Marvel or combine a Captain Marvel movie with GOTG in 2017. It needs to be done and I don't think Marvel Studios, which has really changed the way blockbusters are produced these days, want to be seen going backwards when DC's actually making an effort to diversify their JL lineup (from a racial standpoint).

I absolutely adore RuffaHulk, but I'll be peeved if we get a standalone Hulk sequel before a Black Panther or Carol Danvers movie.

El Mayimbe's back to "speculating" who's going to be cast as Carol in AoU. I'm sure if she's in it, it's a small role.

See, if it were just El Mayimbe saying it, I wouldn't think anything of it. But since Devin Faraci and Drew McWeeny have also both said they hear she's in AoU, I can't help but get my hopes up a little. Small as the role may be, because that at least suggests plans to use her in the future. I need some Captain Marvel in my life, dammit. I'm loving her cosmic run in the comics right now.

And I agree we need Capt. Marvel and Black Panther movies before another Hulk.

Didn't Katee Sackhoff confirm that she had talks with Marvel about something last year?

“There’s been some stuff going on… there’s been a lot of checking of availability. I don’t quite know exactly… There’s been a lot of questions about the first quarter of next year.”

Of course it's quite likely that nothing ever came of those talks (and last month she apparently denied it even though the quote above is directly from her), but Joss IS a major BSG fan...

Seriously though, I doubt she ultimately got the gig given her recent comments, but it seems like - based on that specific window of availability she mentioned last year - the role she would have been talking about could very well have been Carol.

That's what the article speculates. It *would* be cool if it's supposed to be the battle at Arnhem Bridge (and something like that could be used in either an AoU flashback *or* a scene from Peggy Carter --- or both)....but honestly, I get a distinctly stateside vibe from the set description/photos. "Bowstring truss bridges with stone balustrading and traffic lights" (I learned so much about bridge architecture in just that short little paragraph....thanks, blogger! ) are *not* unique to Europe, and could just as well be a bridge somewhere in America. As for the Cap head mural --- my first reaction from that photo was instantly and overwhelmingly "generic 'Captain America Memorial High School' in Anytown, USA."

Also: since when did Movie Cap's cowl have the jutting wings shown in the artist's rendition? t:

Aren't Namor's film rights still with Universal?

Perhaps if the Defenders Netflix show proves to be successful, we will see it get moved to the big screen. I'm not so sure, though.
