What about Ultron's power set was so unbelievable that it had to be tuned down? I think we'll see a less indestructible Ultron so that characters like Hawkeye and Black Widow will be able to fight him.

the reality is that if a rogue AI like Skynet or Ultron ever turned on us it would be game over in a matter of minutes.

Thors hammer and Stark's repulsors wont mean Jack squat when Ultron causes every nuke on the planet to deploy simultaneously (to name but one scenario). He definitely cant be as powerful as hes been in his most recent iterations.

still awfully confused about that Cooper as Rocket thing
You'd think they'd want him for Nova or Mar-vell or even Strange

oh Marvel, hire an a-list pretty boy and make him a talking raccoon.
I think Marvel just trolled Hollywood

Why on earth do you think that Marvel couldn't hire an A-list actor to do voicework as one character, then hire them to do facework as a major character in a different movie? It's not a One-and-Done scenario, especially with voice acting.

And Cooper does great voices, even though this is the first time he'll be doing it professionally. He does some great impersonations, so I'm sure he can do Rocket with a Cockney accent or any other one.

But don't characters like Thor, Hulk, and Iron Man have to fight him as well? He may not have every extreme ability he has in the comics, but he's still going to have to be a major force if he's going to be an actual threat to the Avengers.

Yes, voicing Rocket Raccoon does not mean that Cooper couldn't play another Marvel live action role if he is interested and Marvel wants him. I think it actually makes it more likely that he'd play another role at some point because he'll already have an established working relationship with the studio. Same with Vin Diesel.

So Superman vs Batman will come out 2 months after Avengers 2, and they just hired Ben Affleck as their new Batman. It's going to be one interesting summer.

I don't agree. I think this is all the are willing to get. They are TOO big of names to be a multifilm character. It would feel too forced anyway. Too...Holywood.

I don't want to discuss Superbat here, but couldn't the same be said of Affleck? Or Benicio Del Toro? Or Glenn Close? Anthony Hopkins, even? They're all Academy Award winners or nominees; Hopkins and Close are arguably film icons. Yet they signed on for multi-film deals. Cooper would be no different from them and he's already been signed for a role. If Marvel cast him as another character, say Captain Marvel or Nova, it would be a plus because they'd have a big name, charismatic actor in an important role.

Yeah I seem to remember an interview that Ben didn't want to do another superhero film after he'd done DD. Makes me wonder how much WB is paying him to change his mind.

Man Why can't we get just alittle more actual news on A2?

Or they promised Affleck that they consult him on the script/dialogue (which actually would be a good idea, he's an Oscar Winning Screenwriter).

Ben Affleck, yes, that's why I am not thrilled with it. Genn Close and Anthony Hopkins are big, but, I can't put it into words. Someone like Cooper, is more relevant TODAY. In the prime of his career. I don't see someone in the prime of their career being cast into roles like this. Unless Marvel IS your career, like Hemsworth

It's coming out in 2015? Wow what a crazy summer for films!

Seems like we get a lot of news to me, especially for a movie coming out in two years.

haha well Natalie Portman is an Oscar winner while Robert Downey Jr. was nominated so there's that to the list. Anyone else?

I look forward to seeing who's the better genius between Stark, Luthor, and Wayne in 2015. If Stark really does create Ultron, that's a huge plus for him.

You didn't know that?
Nope. I was on hols recently and must have missed when they created the new Superman Batman forums. Was wondering why I wasn't seeing any Justice League forum posts in my User CP lol. But yeah what a year for fims!

Yeah, it should definitely be an amazing year. Especially that summer. :woot:

That's an interesting theory. If Dr. Strange was indeed being set up to sort of anchor phase 3, I could totally see someone like Bradley Cooper being given the task of bringing the good Doctor to life. Maybe part of the deal is voicing RR and then Strange later. Or maybe not. :whatever:

Gwyneth Paltrow won an Oscar. Jeremy Renner, Mark Ruffalo, Samuel L. Jackson and Don Cheadle have all been nominated.

Sir ben Kingsley as well won an Oscar for his potrayal of Ghandi I believe:o

Cooper is dating a british chick and hangs out in the UK lots so he might be able to pull one off.

I think Cooper has already done one before in Alias if I recall correctly. I think it was more of a cockney accent though, which might be suitable for Rocket Raccoon if people believe that is appropriate.
