Justice League The Batman Casting/Discussion Thread

He pissed me off too much in Pacific Rim lol. I don't see Hal though.

Liam McIntyre(Spartacus) wouldn't be bad he is only 31

He definitely can do pissed off Batman growl. :woot:

If he was still alive, I would have been totally onboard for Andy Whitfield as Batman.

Supposedly he tried out for JLM.

Wait... Cavill was in Tristan and Isolde? How did I not notice?

I've never seen it, but in Franco's review of MOS he said that he think Cavill hated him back then due to being a difficult actor to work with. :funny:

He's pissing everybody off because he's the dreaded Warlow in True Blood as well lol

But I still think he be good as Batman based on what I know of him already :)

I thought he did well enough in PR despite being ACTION MOVIE CLICHE #24: THE *****EY TOP GUN ICEMAN CHARACTER. And he's been pretty good on True Blood. But I'm not sure about him as Batman yet. I feel like I need to see him in a role where I'm just blown away by his performance. Right now, I'm just kind of like, "That guy? He might be okay, I guess."

Of course, that's a lot better than the "F*** NO!!!!" response I give whenever someone suggests Armie Hammer. :woot:

I may start typing "REPORTED" every time someone brings Hammer up in a Batman thread, heh. I didn't like him for Bats in the JL:M days.

Well it's a start for him I guess :p

But to be honest, I was blown away by him in Eastenders. That's where I saw Batman potential :)

LOL, I agree. Suggesting Armie Hammer for Batman should be a bannable offense.

I'm kind of into James Wolk for the role recently after seeing his turn on Mad Men. I know he could pull off the Billionaire Playboy aspect, slightly suspicious of the Batman part but he has the unassuming Bruce look I'd like and if they go slightly more "comic-y" I think he'd be a decent choice. Bulk him up and lets go.

Hmmm... interesting suggestion. He comes off a little too *****ey on Mad Men for my taste, but that was probably just the character.

Oh he certainly comes off *****e-y but I thought the complexity of the character showed his range well. And really, isn't Bruce when he's in fake playboy mode a bit...*****e-y?

Haha, yes he certainly is. The trick though is finding an actor who can convey that *****ey attitude completely convincingly, but then turn it off and reflect the inner darkness needed when he's "real" Bruce and Batman.

The nice thing about TLR flopping is that it will hopefully lead to less Hammer love in the casting threads.

Haha, I agree. I have to admit, there was part of me that really wanted to see that movie fail. I'm just really, REALLY getting sick of seeing Johnny Depp playing goofballs with white facepaint.

Not anymore I don't. When you play the same character over and over and doing so in bad movies, it just stops being entertaining. And he's not doing anything different these days.

For the Liam McIntyre fans, he tweeted that he wants to be Batman . That came not too long after the sdcc announcement. I could certainly live with that choice.

hingle mccringleberry wants to play batman too. an inspired choice, but i think itll be gosling.

does anyone ever listen or think anymore? just because an actor says he wants to do something doesnt mean anything. especially if he tweets about it. i mean whats vin diesels role in the marvel universe, again? he might have one but he was wrong in thinking that theyd announce it at comic con.

wb has no plan. its just the batman and superman show now. they have more money than god and with legendary gone they can make more. nothing should hold them back from making the flash, aquaman, blue and gold, or jl, yet something is.

el mayimbe was right. they are making a batman superman movie, but no bale or nolan.

Well, Nolan is still there in the less hands on role of executive producer. As for Bale, unless they are going to great lengths to lie about his involvement to reveal a big surprise later, obviously he had to be their first choice. The thing that puzzles me is that now we are going to have two different version of Batman written by David Goyer. We are going to have possibly two different Batman themes written by Hans Zimmer. If the Wayne Enterprises logo is used from MOS then that same logo will inhabit two different versions of the character. So I don't know, I've almost completely accepted that it will be a reboot, but it's not like we haven't seen them lie about things before to keep a secret.
