THE BATMOBILE THREAD

I do love those designs, but I always picture Gotham being in really bad shape, roads would have to be PERFECT for that car not to get ruined by pot holes, uneven pavement, large cracks, and having to plow through cars, buildings, etc, etc........

Good God that design is absolutely beautiful. The only thing I'd do is maybe change the vibrancy of the coloring. Make it more muted, like a matte rust type color. And that'd look absolutely gorgeous

I almost don't want a Batmobile. Also Arkham Origins, but I wouldn't be dissatisfied I they do a version like Above, no guns.

I’m with them.

If this take on Batman starts off with the monstrous, mythic reputation, then you have to forego the elements which clash with that image. A supercar is on top of that list.

Ideally they’d build to the superhero image, slowly transitioning design from minimalist shadowy figure to the bold Batman iconography.

Would make the appearance of the yellow emblem and Batmobile worth the wait.

Batman needs some way to get around the city though. I'd say keep the Batmobile but make it super low key.

I think he could manage the city without it. Even if we just saw it under construction in the cave throughiut the film would be enough for me. It shows that he still has growing and improvement to go through, and that he's not already at his gadget peak. Plus you'd have the benefit of the most badass chase scene of all time to start the sequel.

He absolutely needs the Batmovile though. It's a giant city. He needs a car. Like I said, just make it veery low key and something no one knows he has.

Low key? So you want Batman to drive around in something like a 2002 Honda Civic?

Nah. It can still be high tech and a bit stylized but not something that stands out a lot like most batmobiles do.

I hope Matt Reeves starts teasing the batmobile soon. At least let us know what type of vehicle. So many possibilities for different types

I still think the vantablack would be a cool idea for the batmobile, it just makes too much sense.

Well, if you want Batman to use public transport...
You're on the right track.

The 00s cartoon had a clever idea of having Bruce utilizing the underground rail network to traverse the city. He had multiple hideouts and vehicles all throughout Gotham, easily accessible from wherever he was.

if the Batmobile is utilized that way, and not plainly out in the open where it could feasibly never work -- that'd be a fair compromise.

Indeed. A regular “bat mobile,” especially of the kind they’ve been doing lately, would absolutely never work in a city like the one I live in (NYC) without a huge amount of collateral damage. Batman would have something like an autonomously/remotely piloted Cosmopolis limousine constantly at the ready sitting in traffic on standby, but rely on a network of clandestine transit to get anywhere fast. I don’t know if real life tech exists to do a flying vehicle, or that would always be the way to go.
