THE BATMOBILE THREAD

Yes, a modified police/military BMW motorcycle just screams cheap cosplay. :whatever:

No the front piece evoking Bat ears looks like cheap cosplay. Like the person had a bike and just slapped that on the front because "Oooo look! It's like bat ears!"

As for the bike itself, I expect Bruce Wayne to be able to design and have a custom bike built from the ground up for his purposes. Not go to a dealership or auction and buy a random BMW and stick a piece of plastic on the front that looks like bat ears.

Looking at the bike and the rough hodgepodge design of his suit I'm starting to think this Bruce Wayne doesnt have a fortune. Either because he didnt claim his inheritance or he lost it somehow.

Am I the only one that would love to see Batman add on a sidecar in the sequel? Id love to see it as a throwback to the ‘66 Batman.

Maybe that orphanage is abandoned, and he's squatting in it, and that's this movie's equivalent of Wayne Manor.

I know this is Year Two Batman, but think about this for a second...

What if “Batman” has returned to Gotham secretly, but Bruce Wayne hasn’t. Perhaps Gotham still thinks Bruce is dead, and Batman has been operating in secret.

This wouldn’t be my preference but it would offset suspicion that would arise when Bruce returns and Batman emerges at the same time.

That's not the case. We know that Bruce Wayne is in the cathedral scene, a verified crew member said it a few days ago.

Nah, the official press release by Warner literally lists him as "Billionaire Bruce Wayne".

I can’t even discuss DC movies with my friends anymore due to all the negativity.

the snyder era of movies really did a number on the image of the brand. Now we get a new Batman that’s completely separate from the previous era and people can’t wait to tear apart the very little that they’ve seen so far.

so tired of that crap.

Another fairly simple explanation for the more "cheap" aesthetic could be that it's to avert further suspicion. By having a cheap looking bike, it'd make people think it can't be Bruce Wayne because he could afford more expensive looking vehicles.

What if the batmobile and batcycle are intentionally designed as sleepers to avert suspicion? Am I the only one who thinks that'd be a really neat idea?

It's just noise really. Enjoy what you like and the rest, it doesn't matter in the end. Even though I didn't like the suit at first and still think WB are idiots (for many reasons), I'm getting more and more excited for this movie. I had zero interest before these set pictures but the fact it's so different is really great. Can't wait to see this new take on the Dark Knight!

PS: This is coming from a huge Batfleck fan. ;)

Sorry to burst your bubble, but that's not the Batmobile, dude. Just a camera tracking vehicle. ^^'

Red truck is intriguing me though.

That's a big reach.

No bubble burst as I already know about the Caterham (model) camera car. The second post is what I was linking but for some reason the top one came with it. Hope it's true that the Batmobile is in there and they aren't referring to the camera car again.

I was going to post something similar in response to Marvolo before I read your post. The idea of Bruce commissioning unique or custom vehicles has a lot of risk of his identity as being Batman being outed. Nolan showed quite well how ridiculously easy it is for Bruce to be outed as Batman if he is using state of the art, custom equipment. The idea of Bruce buying high quality, expensive, but ordinarily available equipment and modifying it for his purposes makes a lot of sense. A souped up military motorcycle is a great idea given the aesthetic they are going for.
