It might be real. The only real "debunk" is that it has the same brow as other live-action interpretations. Well, multiple versions use the brow. Just look at this image from the arkham game:

So it might be real. I am not seeing enough evidence to counteract that.

None of those match the manip though. But the arkham Origins brow matches EXACTLY. Snyder's not going to crib the design from an existing game.

We should stop calling it a "leaked" pic (even in quotes) and start calling it a hoax pic.

edit: guess this was put on Bat int the Sun's Facebook page yesterday, with him saying "suit updates - thoughts?" Done by Reevz FX. That's why I can't find any other images of it I guess, because it hasn't been used in an actual short yet. The theory that the "leaked" image could just be this cowl, but taken from a screen shot and then manipped is kind of destroyed, since there aren't any videos to get a screen shot from - at least accessible by a fan anyway. Could have been done from an insider of the "Bat in the Sun" production camp, but who would go to those lengths?

Dude.... that's Reevz's sculpt of the Arkham Origins cowl! ANYONE could have done the manip from any number of AO images - possibly a screengrab or render.

THE HOAX MANIP IS BASED ON THE ARKHAM ORIGINS COWL, that is irrefutable. We don't have the source image but we definitively have the source cowl. It's a hoax, so no point tweeting Kevin Smith or anything like that.

There's a seam line coming from the back of the head and leading up to the ear. Never seen that before anywhere.

That "seam" may just be an artefact of manipulation.

Shawn Reeves is a guy who makes costumes and stuff, but he has an in with the production apparently. He's also friends with Jim Lee.

Guys, this brazilian website seems to have found the source of this manip. It seems to be based on one of the Bat in the Sun's suits:

While it is a hoax pic I'll bet it's really close to what we actually get.
and it looks great. I'm a fan of the short ears btw. I always thought the long ears would always get in the way, bang into things, etc. with Affleck being 6'4" long ears would make him have to duck to get through a lot of doorways.

^to the Brazilian website post...nah. the brow ridge is much more angled in the first image. And the Bat in the Sun cowl has more wrinkles above the nose. It's close, but I don't think that's it.

If I was doing such a manip (and I've done many) I wouldn't combine two cowls to make one - that's too difficult and unneccessary. I'd just choose one and alter it to look like I wanted it to.

It would take 20 minutes tops to get a picture of the Arkham Origins cowl, trim the ears and smooth over the detailing on the sides of the head and have it look identical to the cowl in the hoax image.

The brow sculpt is the undeniable point of similarity (as in, identical), proving it was manipped from the Arkham Origins cowl and almost certainly that cowl only. I don't know why people are still talking about it - especially in a way as if there's a chance it still might be real.

I'm sure the hoaxer is having a good laugh.

Agreed. The Frank Miller/Jim Lee short ears make so much more sense in a practical context. Think of the extra height clearance he would have to have over his head in the Batmobile, and having to duck through doors and such.

I not really inclined to and don't have photoshop installed, but I can post this again as an example of turning one cowl into something significantly different.

Again, the brow/face is what gives this away as the TDK cowl - but apart from that it's almost a completely different cowl.

I've got to say, I like the brow detailing of the Origins cowl a lot more than on the BB/TDK(R) cowls. Those look way too soft and the brows are too upturned.

This is mentioned a few pages back. It's a 10 year old hoax purportedly of Christian Bale's first batsuit. The fact that you found it and posted it here presumably means that:

After Batscot dug it up off an old hard drive, as it was nowhere on the net to be found until he did, and posted it here yesterday, someone took it from here, modified it to look washed out and posted it somewhere else. All because we were talking about hoaxes and how they start and spread. Which is insane. Hoaxception. Jeezus H.
