I think the angle, the arm, and the cape are making him look bigger than he actually is.

So...are people thinking that this iteration of the suit doesn't have any armor because it's not displayed on the outside? I figured it was integrated underneath the cloth and molded to his body somehow.

it looks to be more than just cloth

It's early days, of course, and we need to see in motion, and in the final film. But for now at least, I have to say this is the movie Batsuit I've always been waiting for. As much as I adore the Nolan Batman movies, and as much as I feel like the TDK Batsuit was the closest to right up until now, there's always been this part of me that's seen costumes like the Spider-Man costume perfectly adapted and wished for the same for Batman. Now, at the very least, we have that ultimate visual adaptation I've always desired. I can only hope that the film is worthy of it.

I love DC. I swear to God I do. I love MOS. Hell I love Superman Returns. So I hope I don't get laughed out the thread. But do the ears look a little mouse-ish or maybe cat-ish to anyone else. I love the suit. I think Ben and his large frame will definitely intimidate but those ears (are they ears?what do we call those things officially?)

Well, the shape of the chest is clearly unnatural (compare to the very natural (while still fake) MOS costume chest), so yeah, I'd say we're expected to understand there's an armour plate there--as in DKR.

I wasn't that suggesting that "only if you were a real fan you'd love this costume". More like "if you were truly a fan of the character, you wouldn't be so stricken and beholden to one idea of this character who has undergone countless interpretation in his 75 years of existence".

We're just not on the same page so it's all good, dude.

Like I said, something that works on paper might not work on film. It's up to personal preference. Criticisms aside, I think the suit is fine and perfectly serviceable. I am more concerned with the actual story and how the character is portrayed.

No, I asked if you were a fan. You get plenty of people coming onto boards for characters they are not fans of. I apologise if that's how you took it, but it wasn't the case.

Fair enough. Who knows, I may change my tune when I see it on the screen.

(funny observation: Why apologise for how I took it? Always thought that was a funny way to say that. Like one is removing any responsibility from oneself as much as possible)

I've liked the longer ears before, but I think with how much I've been digging Greg Capullo's rendition of Batman in the comics lately, I've grown accustomed to the short ears and like how they look.

Whoa....for those who have misgivings about the suit....important thing to remember is that you're looking at a still picture.

It's much better off being judged how it's intended, like.....

I think the angle isn't particular flattering to the smaller ears, and kind of betrays their 'curved' outline. Maybe a more level look will look less mouse/cat like. I still do like the smaller ears, but they need to be right at the back corner of the head to look right.

I've never liked the Arkham Asylum/City Suit and Cowl. Big ears? Gross. gawdy gauntlets? Yuck. Overly muscular st design? Barf.

I mainly referenced that suit for ear length thats all b/c I still think this suit is outstanding and the best live action one to date...a yellow utility belt would've been interesting but based on Supes costume, (lack of yellow, no underwear) I knew that would never happen lol

I never understood why people felt the need to choose one or the other. Why root for only one publisher's movies to succeed, when you can instead hope for TWICE AS MANY AWESOME SUPERHERO MOVIES? t:

Not sure if someone pointed this out yet, but what I really like is how the stitches in the fabric make it appear as though the suit has been ripped in battle many times in the past and has been sown back together. Or at least that's what all of those dark lines on the arms and legs appear to be to me.
