Can anyone figure out what the texture of the suit is? Is it the same material they used for the MoS suit?

Don't think so. The MoS suit seems to have been made from some kind of plastic or leather, while the new Batsuit seems to have more of a fabric thing going on.

Sometimes I think the idea that this is a Man of Steel sequel, a Superman movie sequel, is lost

His head looks rather large in proportion in that pic, but it could just be the angle. I hope that he'll have more of a classic 'V' shape with wider shoulders than the more barrelly BB shape. the muscle padding looks good in that shot, hope it does't fold and/or look like padding when he moves around.

I see it as more Capullo than Lee. Lee's suit design is very techy and segmented. I feel like Capullo perfected the design, simplified and streamlined it, and that's the version that's more closely reflected in this pic.

Definitely see Capullo there over Lee.

So THAT explains why they're hyping this up as a Superman movie. Oh... Wait. They're NOT. It's almost like it started out as one thing but morphed into something else. Crazy, that. EDIT: Also, REALLY? You're going to complain about that here in the BATSUIT thread? TROLOLOLOLOL.

I see it as more this than Miller

I agree 100%. It's a mixture of Noel's suit and the New52 Jim Lee suit with the edge implemented in the insignia of the DKR storyarc. All 3 of those elements on display but I see the Jim Lee New52 suit the most right now.

Of course more focus is going to be on Batman. He's the new ingredient in the film... everyone has seen this version of Superman and knows what to expect, but with the new Batman there is still mystery, and with that intrigue. Plus, it's BATMAN, the most popular superhero in the world. Of course he's gonna be the centre of attention.

The movie is called Batman vs Superman...I don't see how that's a Superman movie

True, but I think the even bigger picture here is the establishment of a DC universe with characters that are connected to similar events. In this situation you have to get both Superman and Batman right (more so the latter if you want a big payday).

This is why the Hollywood types work in Hollywood and you (contrary to your name) don't.

Becauuuse....I don't think delays are good? Studios don't think they're good, either, but they're needed from time to time because....people don't always have their **** together.

And incidentally, you have no idea what I do in my day job, whether it relates to Hollywood or not.

The more I look at the image the more of a Captain America Avengers vibe I get from the costume.

I didn't even know the suit itself had a ****ing thread.

I don't agree with him either, but there isn't any need for the snark.

Umm... because Superman's name is on the right side of the vs. making him the host team?

I said this in the physique thread but I think that was deliberate, the lack of a V-shape and going for the barrel look.

It's very similar to how Batman is built in DKR, and would fit in with the motif of an older grissled batman.

You have a day job?

Well,Affleck has a gigantic head.
So naturally his head+a cowl would be pretty big looking.:funny:

Just because it's a sequel to MOS does not make this Superman's film. Superman started the DCU, and all future films within the DCU will be sequels to some degree, even if Superman doesn't appear.

If you found that funny then I pity you.

I pity that you view this as a "well-made cosplay" that is "too comic book-y" for a comic book movie.

This suit looks gritty, protective, and fantastically designed/detailed. Most importantly, it looks like a Batman ripped straight from the comics without looking cheesy or goofy in any way, shape, or form. It's essentially what every person in this thread has been asking for, except maybe you. If I remember correctly, you prefer the all-black rubber? Again, I pity you.
