No trunks.

Also, doing that, you might as well just take Zod's suit from his corpse since that's exactly what it would look like.

Not exactly. Add a cowl, different boots, scalped cape, gloves, a belt and bat insignia and it would look quite different.

Just goes to show you, it helps if the right person is wearing the suit. I've always thought that suit would have looked a lot less cheesy if some built like that had worn it. Just give him a plain black bat, and a cylinder utility belt, and we'd have a real-life version of Dick Sprang's Batman.
EDIT: Maybe one of you talented photomanipulators can give that a shot?

Could someone please do a photoshop manip of the new superman/batman logo so as to just have the batman logo so we can get a good look at what it looks like? Thanks in advance

Here's my take on it.

i'd rather the logo and cape be 2 seperate things, and that they use the oval, but other than that i like it

Arkham Origins suit. Something like this would work

I love the Origins suit, although any of the Arkham games suits would be great. They just give Batman this very immense and powerful feeling.

The new insignia for MOS 2 (and probably beyond) looks very fat or thick and block-inspired like something Frank Miller would draw after he lost his drawing ability (circa DK Strikes Again)

I wouldn't count on that logo even being final. Considering that, until recently, all information suggested WB hadn't settled on a plan yet, I doubt they've had this cooking long enough for any legitimate pre-production to take place. It was probably just slapped together for Comic-Con and may not be indicative of anything.

Alex Spider, I actually think that your take is quite impressive! (post #128)

. . . very dark image overall, and the 'trunks' don't look at all out of place.

The body proportion looks off, but I know it's because of the base image.
I like the cowl, belt, gloves and the boots. I like that kind of cape, but I don't like it connected to the bat on his chest.
The trunks look like crap, and while I know you're going for a fabric texture, I don't think the one you chose works right. I like the minimal seam lines you chose. I could do without the white eyes.

I'd like something like this.

Yeah, that'd be great. Something with the simplicity of the Begins suit but with the mobility given by the TDK one without being so "jigsaw" looking.

The biggest plus in this reboot is doing away with Nolan's awful Bat-armor.

I expect Snyder will select something flexible.

Thanks. Glad you liked it.

Yeah you re right about the trunks they don't look good and i wanted a fabric texture but didnt bother very much and slaped it there quick and the body proportions are a little off although I fixed it a bit compared to the original buffer body.

This is going to sound unreasonable, but one of the reasons I'm excited Snyder is taking on Batman is the Nite Owl costume in Watchmen. It looked armored, but not overly so. The actor could really move and fight in it. The cowl and neck looked sculpted and had a nice, clean silhouette, but he had full range of motion in his neck. Most awesome of all, he could pull the cowl back like a hood, something I've wanted to see Batman do in live action all my life. I want the batsuit to be constructed like this. I already know Snyder will make it look great, that's what he does, but I want that functionality Nite Owl had.

Thanks for the positive response. Maybe someone could polish and improve it as I am bored and it needs some tweak here and there.

I recently had an idea that maybe Bruce could have different versions of the Batsuit for different functions. Like if he's planning to encounter a lot of gunfire and explosions, he has a more armor-plated outfit; if he's just out to intimidate someone or get information, he has an outfit that accentuates his shadows and makes him look less human. You don't need to take it as far as the Silver Age comics did, but just the practical stuff would be an interesting change-up.

maybe as movies go on and stuff, but i think that would be too much for snyders batmans first appearance. they should establish a base, iconic look for him, and then they can add on things like that in a sequel

Yeah, the legs look a little hard to move in. Too bulky.

Blue and grey. With the oval. And briefs.

Okay, I'm willing to be flexible on the briefs.

At this point, I'm so sick of all the armored costume suggestions and the snobbish response that some have toward the oval, that I actually want to see them pull off an updated, modern version of the blue/gray/oval outfit.

Any lines, piping etc that make a batsuit look too tech-like or Iron Man-esque just doesn't work IMO.

It needs to be a basic suit without screws, bolts or anything even remotely metal looking.
