I honestly wouldn't mind getting something like this:

I kind of miss that Bat Insignia, with the whole Yellow emblem included in the design.

I like both these the only thing I would change about the first one is making the belt/holster black.

Decided to make my own manip, it's not amazing because it's just a quick thing, but hopefully it shows that a fabric costume could actually look good on screen.

While those designs look great, because they are animated style it doesn't really show whether it would work on screen or not. I could post a great piece of art from the comics and say I want that but that doesn't mean it would work on screen and it's the same logic. :BA

A pretty good attempt, good work.

I love the insignia, and I like most of Tim Drake's design. The only problem I do have with it is the implication the artist is carrying over the "Tim Drake was never Robin" nonsense.

HERESY!:argh:

just a question so dont bite my head off if you guys dont like this idea. How about war paint like what they did in Smallville Season 11, Batman wore grey war paint around his mouth which helps to conceal his identity (which doesn't really work on someone like Superman but still lol)

But, Joker got to wear war paint. :oldrazz:

War paint would be pointless IMO. Imagine all the times he would have to put on paint during an emergency before going out as Batman and sometimes even quickly slip back where Bruce Wayne was last seen without anyone noticing he was gone.

Same could be said about the paint around his eyes. :funny:

Supposedly this is from an early BB script...

Yeah, it's authentic. That's from the original script that "leaked" way back when..

One of the reasons why I think making things "real" can lead to problems.

Batman did not wear facepaint in the previous films. Bale did in real life, but there is no facepaint on Batman's face in the context of the film.

There's paint around his eyes just like all the past actors starting with the Burton films.

But, that's if you really care to think about the how "real" it would be to dress up as Batman in terms of time.

something like these suits works for me. We definitely need grey and black

There's paint on the actors as they are portraying the character. In the context of the universe itself, there is no paint on the eyes.

Exactly. Which is what led to one of the clunkiest moments in Batman Returns when he rips off his cowl, when it's so glaringly obvious he's wearing makeup around the eyes beforehand, then a split second before he rips it off, suddenly the makeup disappears. That scene could have been so much better edited than it was.

Am I the only one hoping they do away with the eye makeup?

I honestly think that they need to start acknowledging it in the film, or just do away with it all together. Preferably the latter.

There are ways they can get the "white eyed" look without using eye makeup.

Permawhite, darnit! :cmad:

It depends what you mean by doing away with the makeup. If the eyelids and surrounding flesh are left uncovered, I think it looks really unsatisfactory. The illusion of the man-monster completely shatters, and you are left with the resemblance to a Halloween costume.

Sculpted eye sockets and white lenses/goggles seems like a good idea in theory, but it would probably completely remove the actors ability to be expressive with his eyes, and might lead to the weird bug-eyed look we got in TDK. I realise that a good actor can do the job with his upper face (Dredd) or even his whole face (V for Vendetta) covered, but Batman is an exceptional case, where his eyes are implicitly visible. You expect them to be doing something.

Given the problems emanating from Bruce needing to wipe black boot polish off his face, I personally think that the compromise of the actor wearing unacknowledged face paint is probably the best solution. I think the costume designers on B89 probably knew what they were doing: the approach has lasted for seven movies and over twenty years, and I'm sure different solutions have been attempted in that time.

You could always white out the pupils and iris in post-production- that may be the way to go.

Eh, maybe so. But, it still comes off as simply paint. Then, if you bother to think about it, it always takes time for someone like Batman to get suited up in these films as opposed to characters like Superman (who doesn't really need to wear his suit under his clothes given how fast he can change anyway) or someone like Spider-Man.

So, if someone thinks having Bruce wear more paint on his face for his disguise, I don't really see the problem in with it in terms of how long it would take him to put it on or take it off since I don't think about it when watching the film anyway. But, I wouldn't have Batman do it anyway. I'd go full on mask.

For white eyes, I'd go the Daredevil route or use CGI like Green Lantern to give the look that you can kinda see the eyes through the lenses much like some artists like to do for the comics.
