People who have seen the suit at SDCC said that the belt is black or very dark bronze.

Either way, not bright bronze or gold.

As for the bronze fins, I just don't see it happening. Maybe edges, but not the entire fins.

Thats what I was thinking.. someone in the "know" said he's got "gold" on his suit, and its been greatly exaggerated.

I have been told by 3 people that I trust that the costume is grey and black.

Well these cosplayers know a few people that they trust and will bet their life that this suit will feature gold highlights.

These cosplayers would just ruin a 3000 dollar suit for no reason? I think not!

Well, Jeremy Roberts, a DC comics illustrator and the artist on Man of Steel tie-in comics, seems to think there isn't any gold:

I realize he might not be "in the know", but I would trust his opinion over some cosplayers who have supposedly seen the suit. Plus, his depiction of the suits are very detailed and seemed to be very accurate.

Ruin?

All they'd have to do is slap a coat of black paint on the scallops, boot tips, and belt and call it a day.

I did not know Roberts did this pic! Yeah, that settles it for me.

If anything, the suits are already ruined with the gold. :hehe:

Well, it seems like even the cosplayers can't agree on the shade of gold.

Lawd.

Why a *****ebag? I don't like his flicks, but he seems aight to me.

*****ebag might be a bit too hard to call him, but he is known for having feuds with people for stupidest reasons and sometimes even giving a person a bad reputation, based on little to no reason at all. Like it was the case with Linda Fiorentino, for example.

His feud with Bruce is funny though. Also, Linda has been replaced or not offered other films becasue she is that difficult. Mendes wouldn't even meet with her for American Beauty. He knew how she was.

Linda, on the other hand, had to work every day on the movie because she was in every scene, so she really never got to leave and she got irritated when cast members would go elsewhere. She got really angry about that and asked me to do something about it. And I said, "What am I supposed to do? I mean, they want to go away and they're not working, so that's fine." And one day she stopped talking to me for a whole day, because she was so irritated by the fact that other people got to leave the set. That was kind of weird. The weirdest experience I had making a movie.

But the thing with Linda Fiorentino is that once I got curious about the fact that everyone's saying that she's difficult to work with, but couldn't tell where they got that from, so I looked into it a bit. It turns out that people either aren't able to say where that reputation originated from or they quote that very sentence from Kevin Smith you just posted. Aside from Smith, I never found anyone having anything remotely as negative to say about her.

Now, I'm not saying that he's lying or even exaggerating, but he does tend to bash people he works with in a manner I can't really like nor respect. In a business like this, bad reputation can do a lot of damage to an actor and he seems to be doing so rather casually.

And if by "Bruce" you mean your "Die Hard: With a Vengeance" buddy, then yeah, it was funny, I admit. :woot:

Also, this seems to be on a friend of a friend info. Lawd.

From Reddit.

For people wondering about the gold fins, toes, and knuckles, I heard from a friend of a cosplayer who knows someone from WB who's seen the actual Batsuit that the real suit has bronze accents like that, which is why cosplayers are now using that.

Unless they can provide us with the original post from that forum for context.

"Heard from a friend of a cosplayer who knows someone from WB who's seen the actual Batsuit".

And here I thought the source is not reliable. :o

Quite the opposite for me, really. As straight as a design you can get and I like that about it, but that shiny-dominatrix type of material is huge yuck.

I guess I just like the "reflective" color of the material. It just looks like Daredevil.
New costume is too bulky... not a big fan. But hey, the TV show is awesome, so I'm cool with it.

This particular cosplayer does not want to comment on the gold highlights. So he knows something, or is completely BSing. ITs too specific to make up out of thin air...

This.

Where did the whole gold highlights thing start again?

Apparently some "insiders" at rubies who have sen the suit in color. And some cosplayer said he knew from a friend who knows someone at WB or something and that that is the suit's true colors. I don't freaken know. It's all over the place.

What did he say his sources were?

I can't comment on that.

But I will say that I painted those parts that same day (2hrs before Con) with the paint I had available with me at the time.
I'll be repainting again this weekend.
Cheers.
