I wonder whether it originates in a desire to neutralise the height difference between him and Cavill, and it has carried over to other promotional images. Many of these pictures look as if the upper body and chest have been photographed from an elevated angle, then grafted on to the rest of the body as photographed head-on.

I love the batsuit, I love Ben as The Batman (I've been on board with him since he was cast), I love how it looks in all the shots we've seen so far in the movie but I have to admit, seeing that cover made me immediately burst into laughter. It's the head/cowl really, for the most part, it just looks ridiculous, I mean WTF why do mannequins with the suit look so much better? t:

The thign about the neck: its also because of the suit giving Batman a different physique than Bruce Wayne, which makes sense in hiding his secret ID.

I am flabbergasted by people's love for this suit. It looks incredibly over padded in the arms area. I'm happy the majority love it, but I would have thought there would be complaints about it.

LOVE the new suit. LOVE the huge shoulders, lats, and traps that Batfleck is sporting. I could care less if his neck looks hidden... The dude looks freaking beastmode.

That image of it is dreadful, but it looks far better in other shots, particularly in the spy pictures from the filming of Suicide Squad.

Bale's Batman wins in the picture department. Better pose, better lighting. His neck is visible.

I love Batfleck's suit but this picture is not flattering at all.

The staged promotional shots aren't doing it any favors, especially when people are playing Frankenstein with Photoshop. But in the Comic Con trailer and in the Suicide Squad set photos, it looks great.
